If you do get a diagram, post it...interrested to see the differences betwee it and the old single shot (M10).
Don't freak out...so far as I can tell from ads and real life, the old M10 single shot had the same Ti. air tube (and very likely the same tube diameter/length as the M22) and the same pressure rating. Just unregulated, single shot, a short shot count with a lot of energy, but the same Ti. air tube...without the reg. in place. So I'm thinking that if you really wanted to, could adjust that regulate M22 to give 40 shots/40 foot pounds without serious issues/mods, and keep all 40 shots inside of 1.5=2% variation.BUT...hey now....that's just supposition. Seems a reasonable/achievable goal form my playing around with an M10....which would put that .22 in the "asrse kicking" end of standard weight .22 pellet performance (something like 21gr. at 925fps) for tsomething like 36-40 small variation shots.Yeah...makes me look towards that one becoming available in the US.

My guess is an adjustable regulator, since SPA has already proven they can do an adjustable regulator, transfer, port, and hammer spring and still keep cost under $200.If oyou can pick up one of these M22 rifles cheaply, Peter, I'd say go for it. You've had excellent results with some of your other guns.
