This Whisper Fusion Mach 1 Pro is the loudest airgun I own.
Does anyone own one and have anything else in my signature?

If it was dry inside when your tore it down and it's still dry it's probably not detonation at this stage of the game.
You made no mention of what pellet you're shooting. I didn't see if you mentioned a caliber or not. If it's a .177 try something about 8.5 grains or perhaps up as high as 10.5 grains and see if that helps. If it's a .22 go for 14-16 grains.
If the pellet's too light the piston could be slamming against the end of the compression tube. That's just my guess.

I had a silent cat in .177 and that was not loud at all. Even with the PBA ammo.

It does seem like the Piston is slamming down. I'm using .177 CPH. So 10.5 gr.
The seal was completely nick free.
Other than slathering some tar on everything I'm out of ideas. I guess I can search for a super heavy 177.

How is the gun loud, the shot cycle, the report or is the pellet going super sonic and cracking like .22LR?

My Beeman R1 and yours have the same power in .177. Yeah you are supersonic with that gamo. I mean they even advertise 1400fps so backing off pba and into lead you are still clipping along. I went with the .22 mach 1 because of that. The beeman would be fairly quiet with a hunting pellet but louder than the mach 1 by a good bit.

Could it be that the shooter is hearing the noise of all the steel walloping about close to his ear and the gun at 3 or 4 metres away is quiet?
Hollow synthetic stock perhaps doing its sound transfer work. That is assuming the other suggestions are eliminated.

Could be, but insulation is hollow and solids conduct. Lower mass is a different issue. Less molecules to absorb that energy so some gets loose. I would think a sound barrier crack would stand out as a unique report when compared to any mechanical racket.
