What's the best pellet for your Hatsan 95

I just bought a Hatsan 95 vortex QE .22 and would like to know from Hatsan 95 owners the best shooting pellet they have found for their 95 to sight it in??

I don't have a Hatsan.
Well, maybe my Webley Patriot counts as a Hatsan, I don't know.
Anyway, JSB  Exact usually works with most guns. Try those.
I know my Patriot get really great groups with JSB's.

First, I'd run to your local Walmart and buy an inexpensive tin of Crosman .22 pellets and shoot 150 or so with just the open sights and let the rifle break some. After that, you may find they shoot very well in yours.
I have 3 Hatsan built .22's. An Edge Vortex that shoots H&N Field Target Trophy (FTT's for short) in 5.53 head size very well along with RWS Superdomes. Also have 2 Webley Tomahawk .22 caliber springers that were built by Hatsan and are just way prettier versions of the Model 95 springer. One shoots the above Superdomes the best with the FTT's and H&N Baracuda Hunter Extremes a close 2nd.
The other shoots the H&N FTT pellets the best with the above RWS Superdomes and Air Arms Field Diabolo pellets a close 2nd. I've tried a bunch of others in all 3 and the above were the ones that shot best but your mileage may vary and your new rifle may like something else better.
Easiest way to test pellets is the sampler box from Straight Shooters that has 25 each of 18 different pellets you can try to see which shoot best in yours. You can find that sample box here:

I'm sure others will chime in with theirs and you'll get an idea of why they say the gun picks the pellet.

It loves Polymags, and that is what I hunt with, pest with, and plink with.

Maybe that's odd; maybe it isn't.  But it's what I use.

Maybe you mentioned it before. Does the 95 in 25 have enough energy to open the polymags? Or do they act as wadcutters? Thank you.

I have the exact same gun, and it shoots the Hatsan 14.66 grain Vortex pellets the best, I'd say. These are the pellets Hatsan recommends for it, too.  It shoots the H&N FTT's (I had 5.54 mm's but next time I'd go with 5.53) and JSB Jumbo 18.13 grains just as well.

Strangely, I had a partial tin of Crosman 14.3 super domes (or whatever they're called, the domed ones-not hollow points) and it shot those great, too, but I just bought another tin of those at the local Tractor Supply store and its flinging those about 1.5 inches right of where it shoots the Hatsan Vortex's, and the groups aren't as tight, either.  The pellets look good, but something's wrong.

Sam, the Polymags open up.  They don't mushroom inside-out, but they penetrate and expand nicely.  Think of it as a better-than-wadcutter.

I'll take a couple shots later into some pine boards and maybe into a bucket of water.  I'll post the results.  Now I'm wondering why I never took any photos of them after a squirrel-kill.

My 87 QE didn't like the JSB's I tried. Tried several different weights, 14.3, 15.89 and the 18.13's. It shoots best with the H&N FTT's. Does well with all three head sizes but The 5.55 head size edges out the others.
