Artemis P-15 degassing and regulator problem

I used a piece of steel rod 1/4 " round by 7/8 long. removed hammer spring and inserted the rod and screwed the hammer adjuster in to bleed the air cylinder. it only worked after I shoot it down to 1200 psi, other wise to much pressure on the adjuster screw. Now my question is ,"has anyone tried to use the set screw on the side of the valve to bleed the pressure off?"
Problem number 2, when I disassembled the valve and regulator, my bellevilles fell out, cause the dirty little person who put the reg together    left out the snap ring on my reg. and the internals fell out and now I do not know the proper belleville washer arrangement.
does anyone know the washer orientation?    And I still have to go to hardware store for the snap ring. No wonder my gun did not perform right. I have nothing but problems with the varmint also. What is about QC that SPA does not understand?

Sorry to hear of your troubles with both guns. I too had some quality control issues with my CP-1M. Unless you're lucky, these seem to be tinkerers guns, because of the qc issues. I like tinkering and my CP-1M was cheap but the more expensive ones should have a bit more care in their assembly you'd think! Hopefully Mike gives them some talking to about putting things together properly! Sorry I can't help with the regulator washers hopefully someone chimes in soon

I got the cp2, and like it . It has a left handed bolt which is nice for pistol shooting and 2 set screws for trigger adjustment that work really good for me

I love mine too, though mine is right hand bolt and only has one set screw but I put a bushing on the one pin which does same thing. Mine had machining off on the barrel transfer port alignment and the magazine and single shot tray both had problems. One wouldn't slide in far enough and the other too far lol, so some sloppy work. Otherwise it has been super. Shoots great!

I have the M16, not sure if this info applies...

I basically degassed the same way you did. I would not be loosening that set screw in the hope it would bleed off the air slowly...

My reg worked fairly well until this afternoon, it bypassed due to one, bad o ring. It's fixed, and working well again, for now at least.

Just so you might feel a little better, QC was on break when my rifle came off the line to...or SPA just doesn't have QC.

  thanks Schultz. I will use that washer arrangement if no else finds the P15 different.  The set screw has a check ball under it and there is a hole inside the valve body in line with it. I just have not been able to get the ball out, yet. The Spartian on PAKGUN forum said his P-15 had a bleed screw, it makes me wonder if that screw is it

I'm not sure just how much different the P15 is from the M16 I have.

Mine has a plug screw that's inline with the block the air tube screws on to. At least I think it's only a plug, that's what the exploded view shows me. I didn't pull it though, could be a check ball under it...

Jack , go to huben  web site . They offer a replacement reg. In the install instructions there is a drawing of the washer stack. Also check out Air - festive site there is a good YouTube video on mods for the p15

The replacement reg is from huma-air.com sorry about the bad info.the air-fective  site has a baffle replacement that has a 1/2 unf  adapter for a add-on  ldc.  I ordered one for my p15 will post results when it arrives.

Be aware, I measured the barrel end threads on my p15 yesterday and they are for sure 12x1.25MM, not 1/2-20.  1/2-20 screws on very loose and will likely be damaged if a pellet is put through it.  Regards, Tom

12x1.25 mm good to know I didn't have any metric pitch gauges to check. I'll let ya know if any thing happens to the weilrauch .25  1/2x20 I got screwed on now. So far 1 1/2 tins good to go.
