Interesting observation

I took a few shots with different shirts today and without a shirt. I bet no one has tried that.
I usually have a cotton T-shirt when I shoot. I tested without a shirt and with "slippery" synthetic one. POI is completely different with  that "slippery" one or without a shirt.
With the slippery synthetic one , the shots where all over the place.
Just a little food for thought.

Yes I have noticed that. There is a difference between a cotton shirt and a woolen jersey and if it is really cold and wearing a woolen jersey and a coat over the top the rifle doesn't fit like it should. I have also noticed a different fit of the rifle to the shoulder when changing from seated to prone shooting.
More varibles to confound the shooter but we do hit something sometimes.

I tried something similar about a year ago during the summer, similar results, I now no longer shoot springers with sleeveless shirts lol

When I started shooting in highpower rifle competition years ago, the old-timers told me to get the best shooting jacket that money could buy and my scores would go up 40%.  By gosh they were right!  My scores did go up 40%!

I also have an old USMC shooting jacket with the shoulder and elbow pads.  Even on hot days, when I could tolerate it; I'd wear that jacket out ground hog hunting.  It was amazing how many of the long shots that I could make with the aid of that shooting jacket.

It won't work with the springers but if you're shooting a PCP wearing the USMC style shooting jacket should help with producing tighter groups.

I need to get me another one of those jackets and have come across a source for custom made shooting jackets made like the USMC versions.  I haven't placed my order yet because I'm not sure about what color I want.  She also makes them in camouflage.

This reminds me of the first time I shot my Mosin.  It took me a couple shots to recall it was designed for shooting in near-arctic conditions wearing a dozen layers of thick fabric.

I've found if I'm outside sweating heavily, I should stick to my pistols.  But I also generally wear wool shirts (Smartwool, Woolrich, etc) year round unless I'm making lots of sawdust.  Cotton works fine too; I prefer not wearing synthetic fibers against my skin...

... but looking back, the couple sessions I did shoot in some lightweight synthetics, I shot lousy groups.

I have shot wearing just my PJs before and the squirrel died just the same as his brother did when I was all gussied up in a jeans, t-shirt, and hoodie.  Both time I wore flip-flops, so maybe that's the only thing I need to wear to ensure a clean kill.

But back on topic, yeah, what you wear, or don't, can really change your POIs, especially with springers. That's one of the biggest advantages with PCPs, that they seem to be practically immune to POI shifts from hold and stance issues.

All-black Reefs with camo-pattern pj shorts and a solid green T.

Incidentally, I wore those same flip flops a few minutes ago re-sighting in my 2400KT and was johnny-on-the-spot, so these must be performance-shooting flip-flops.

Chickie (and Lizzie), just focus on making your shots, not worrying about us Y-chromosomes.  Cuz we're guys.  We're expected to be silly.

I definitely agree that dress has more influence on springers. I can say this with confidence, since the other night I pulled off a headshot on a rat while in only my boxers

Why do I foresee an FT event and half the clowns show up clad in a t-shirt and nothing else?

Would make for some conversation, for sure.
