I've been reading a bit about use Moly Lube in compression chambers of Nitro Piston guns. Got me thinking... I've got this tube of Molykote we use it to lubricate fan blade dovetails on turbine engines I'm thinking this might just work pretty good in the compression chamber. This is some information on the product:

Dow Corning Molykote G-n Metal Assembly Paste Gray-Black is a extreme-pressure, solid lubricant that is used for metalworking, press-fitting, running-in, assembly, and protecting against corrosion. It is recommended for aircraft engines and airframe applications. It is multi-purpose, low friction, and heavy duty.\

The first ingredient is petroleum distillates.  They diesel.  The desired compound would be at LEAST sixty percent molybdenum disulfide.

If you lube the compression tube, it is then wiped out.  A small amount goes on the lip of the piston seal.

I should have mentioned that this stuff dries out within minutes after application leaving a film of the lubricating properties.  Wipe it on  let dry wipe off excess powder. Might be a moot point for me because I'm installing a Vortek  molly impregnated piston seal.

M77 molykote is also available in a silicone base carrier. MSDS lists no petroleum distillates. You can get 1oz tubs on ebay.
