I had left it cocked and loaded for a day waiting for a skunk at night. Seemed to fix itself for some reason. It cocks back like butter again. I am sure it got nervous seeing the new gun and decided it better start working. Also on a side not Mr skunk is dead. Thanks to a .22 Predator polymag to the heart lung area at about 15 yards. Dinger went off so i waited in the pitch dark of the porch with my green hunting light. Mr skunk decided it was time to raid the bird feeder. Last day of that for him. Guess the maximus still has it going on. Reminded me why i like it so much. It is still way to long to be maneuvering around in the dark. Glad it's working better for you, they are fun guns.Congrats on the skunk, did he spray?

Yea first time i have had a heart lung shot spray. I may have done some massive internal damage causing him to release this time. First time ever, i will remove him in the morning when the smell dies down some. haha
Just a reminder....can spread the cost of the fill gear to 20% per rifle once you get to 5 PCP's....makes it seem much more reasonable at that point.
I love my new .22 Varmint. Love how small, light, and accurate it is, and I love that is has NO plastic. I'm getting consistent half-inch 5-shot groups at 25 yards with JSB 15.89 grain pellets from a solid benchrest and bags, and that's with a 3x scope. With Crosman Premier HP pellets I'm getting 1.75" groups. Lesson: Use JSBs!
Have you tried the heavier .22 JSBs yet, Techie?
QuoteHave you tried the heavier .22 JSBs yet, Techie?Even though I have some 18.13 gr JSBs, I have not tried them. I'm pretty sure they will shoot great too. However, the 15.89 gr. JSBs are already shooting better than I can hold with a 3x scope, so I don't feel the need. I'm of the type where I'd just as soon leave well enough alone, and spend my time on more pressing things like trying to get my PP700S-A to shoot at consistent velocity. The regulator in that thing is anything but.
