What yard range is that group, Hoosier Daddy? You say anything over 20, and I hate you...  lol 

I had the same experience with the Superdomes skirt.  Crosman Premier Pointed pellets don't shoot terribly bad in the .22 but lots of flyers.  In the .177 the Crosman Premier Hollow Points shoot about just as good.  For me "good" is 1" at 25 yards.

You're gonna hate me... 25 measured, but on a front bag rest. 
Speaking of front bag rest. Put the stock on the bag right where the forearm checkering divides with the solid diagonal line. She will almost "teeter" there.
 Here goes IF you are right handed shooter....
 No left hand, put it under your right armpit.
Right hand on the trigger but don't wrap the thumb around. Leave it in line with the  index (trigger) finger.
Minimal creek weld and let her walk.
That's my take on the "Artillery Hold"

And it ain't even Christmas time....

I was reading some of the earlier posts about tuning these, and trigger work, and thought Bill had one? Now I look,I don't see it in your line up??
 Did you part with it?

I called the Walmart where I got mine, no more coming in. The Walmart south of here has not discounted.
 Now I read they are coming out with a gas ram and wood stock; still nickel plated.  Looks sharp.

It's fuzzy but it's coming back to me now.... The X2 sold with the Black Ops block and barrel on it and the Black Ops sold with the dual setup on it.

The current guns and prices on the market now make it so folks can buy new for what we have to get out of our used. I have a couple guns listed that I would have walked 20 miles, slapped my grandma and kissed a rattlesnake right on the mouth for a year or so ago.

Yep you got that right. I was telling Scott I saw a 1377 (old rear cocker) at a flea market. The gun wouldn't budge on a $60 price tag, and the rust was included. Would have needed a complete overhaul.
   Scott was talking about a $35 dollar 1377

Well seems like we have found the same "sweet-spot" as far as balancing it goes. I'll have to try holding the trigger like you suggested. Maybe less cheek-weld.

Following along on your tear down process, also reading people having main springs break. Wondering  if a few coils cut from the spring; bring it down say to shooting in the 900's(.177) would be worth it??

Well, in my limited experience, I don't think it would be. Reason being is I didn't feel a big level of difference between the older spring and the new one. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to shoot the new one comparatively but yeah, it just didn't seem like it made much difference in the control and feel of the shot cycle.

As far as velocity goes...  Well that's where I'm not sure what to say. Mine is shooting in about the 850s right now with .177, 660s with .22, but when I tested these it was during one very hot week where the temperatures were always 85-95 so I'm not sure how much the hot air reduced the numbers I should have seen.  I have seen other figures from other members that suggest the low 900s is where you're gonna be at anyway.

I have literally run a thousand rounds through mine.
Had to retighten screws more than I care to think... but... It gets better with break-in.
Tonight I shot my "new" Maximus and in all honesty, the Kodiaks patterns last night were MUCH better

That sounds great, but I have to ask, are the internals still stock from buying it,or did you do a lube tune or anything? Perhaps I worry too much.
 Certainly sounds like it's shooting good!
 By the way what are you running for a scope? Looks great with that paint.

 Mine got left cocked for weeks on end , when I borrowed it to my mother. Settled it in nice, not that is the prefered method of tunning , I got lucky , so far
