My new prod build

So I started building my prod for more power because of a week long airgun hunt I'm going on in September with my friend. We plan on only eating what we hunt so I wanted to make sure it could take a medium sized animal like a porcupine no problem. I finally got it put together tonight and shot a string over the chrono and was pretty happy with the results. Here's what I have done to it~

Hill valve & .120 tp. Huma reg set to 135 bar. Tss and I honestly have no clue what springs I ended up using but I think one is the spring I ordered from hill. Honed air tube and polished hammer that came with the tss and some graphite. Here's my shot string from 3000-1800psi.

I have Jim Gaska making a 15" barrel and longer shroud so the fps should increase a bit when installed. I hope to have it soon.

That should do it! Good work! I have almost the exact result with similar mods. My Prod is unregulated and that's the only difference.

Wayne, Maybe we have eaten it. I did a google and found this??,  correct porkies are not at all bad table fair. Folks back in Michigan made pasties out of them fairly frequently. A pasty is a finnish meat pie with potatoes, carrots, onion, rutabaga and "mystery meat. "     I do Like pasties, And stop for them whenever I head to the UP. Jaa

Porcupine is actually really good. I shot one last fall and cooked it up like pulled pork. Everyone that tried it liked it.

One thing I'm curious on is would a mds hammer improve this? Rocker1 has them around 35grams I believe he said. Or would it be too light?

That might be next, but I generally use the prod for pests out to 25 yards max. I have a discovery tuned to 28 fpe for 20 good shots and a .25 AT44S 10 QE that averages 36 fpe for 2 magazines that is getting a spare air tube and regulator. So different tools for different jobs.

Same with me. I took quite a few squirrels at 25 -35 yards with my prod stock but I wanted it to be more powerful just incase of a bad shot. My mrod is what I use for longer range hunting if that's what I'm out doing. No problem out to 100yards with that thing. I use my kral for pest birds at my moms house for her but really don't shoot it past 25yards. I'm going to use it more this year for squirrel hunting.

Here's a pic of mine as it sits now. I really like the stock I got from lee also. It's going to help it fit into my backpack perfectly without having to remove anything like I would have with the factory stock. As it sits now it's a tack driver with 21.14 h&n 5.52mm pellets. One hole groups at 25 yards. And with the aftermarket carbon fiber shroud it's very quiet.

So I got my new 15" barrel and shroud from Jim at WAR today and got it installed a little bit ago. I shot some groups with a few different pellets and found that H&N barracuda match 5.52 shoot very well out of it. My velocity dropped a bit but with the accuracy I got I don't mind. I can't wait to take it out this weekend and shoot it out to 50 & 75 yds to see how it does. Here's a group of 4or5 pellets I shot at 25yds. I lost tract of the exact shot count but know it's either 4 or 5. It's the .25" group by the 6" mark on the tape measure.

We plan on taking a bunch of stuff with us to make crazy dishes that most don't make in the woods. Things like fish tacos, pulled squirrel sandwiches, crawfish mac n cheese and what ever else we can come up with! But a curry does sound like a good idea!

I have 5 or 6 different seasonings I'm bringing not including the normal salt and pepper. I'm pretty sure I'll be adding curry powder to it now though! Grouse curry would be a nice meal one night!

I figured I was done modifying my Prod until I started watching the thread Travis posted on the new ART/Sykes valve. I've got the TSS in my Prod already so it makes the mod even more tempting.

I agree. The biggest thing that has my attention is the cocking effort. It's not exactly easy to cock right now so if I can make the same power or more with equal or better shot count and reduce the effort needed to cock it then I'm going to get one.
