I live in Europe and there is other very good big bore guns but the cost is prohibitive (drummen sinner or beaumont), hence the texan seems the way to go for me.Many thanks in advance for users feedback.

Just pointing out.
If I lived in the US I would go for an AAA slayer 308 for sure but those wonderfull big bores are not available here :/

Or are You planning to build one?You can buy AAA slayer .308 but there is those fees....Airgunexporter.com that company will handel buying and shipping from USA to EU...I ordered 2013 if I recal correctly Quackenbush LA Outlaw .458 from USA and Airgunexporter make it possible. Vincent is very nice fellow. So if You really want that is a option
I have shot both rifles. Don't waste your money on the .308 AF gun. I have one in my garage now. Doug Noble has worked on it, I have shot lots of different rounds through it, both mine and others and it is very disappointing. I believe it has barrel harmonic issues. Shoot off the regulator and the gun all over the place. If you do buy it, make sure you or someone you can go to is a machinist that can tinker with it to get it to shoot good.
I have checked for airgun exporter to get a slayer but when I add fees + custom + local fees it easily goes over my budget (around 50% more than the US price).
Nick I gave it to you before I had time to mess with it. I don't understand why the valve has a such a large top hat gap. I only have .085"-.090" gap and I can make 300 fpe with 171 gr. When I get the gun back I will mess with the valve. What's funny is my 2 308's work great. Even before I made them even stronger on the frame.
After a fair amount of tinkering and some barrel work, I was able to really tighten up the groups with the .308 - but it took some real focused time of trial and error. My barrel work consisted of leade cut for better seating of the bullets - re-crown - and fire lapping. Shooting 135 and 155 grain bullets and differing pressures from 2500-3200 I could go from shooting almost 1 inch (MOA) at 100 yards to having 3.5 inch groups and point of impact shifting all over the place. Other than the barrel work the guts of the gun are totally stock. I am going to be adding a Mad Dog stock and a carbon fiber sleeve to replace the tuning donut thing I have on there now. This final group was 2500 PSI with a 155 grain Spitzer from Hunters Supply. SUPER hold sensitive too. At least on this day I found that holding with super light shooting pressure and pushing the butt stock into my shoulder with my non-shooting hand got me the best grouping. I hope the Mad Dog stock helps with the hold sensitivity. I can tell you that putting the stock onto my .45 turned it into an entirely different gun.
