At Ione today for the springer match.
Had the TX in the truck.
Thought I would try the Diana52.
Bad mistake.
The trigger feels like it is pulling aout 10-12 pounds.
Bad enough to fight the swirling 15-20mph winds at Ione but to try and fight that lousy trigger too.
I am going to let the motorhead have a crack at it.
I have a nice steel trigger for it too.
If he can't smooth it out and get it down to 3-4 pounds, it is heading for the scrap heap.
Very disappointing.
After 6 lanes and not dropping some very easy targets, I finished the match with the TX.

My 48 has the TO 6 trigger and it is light as a feather. You should be able to get the TO 1 close. You just need to play around with it a bit.

The biggest trick (I think) with the T01 trigger is knowing WHERE to polish. I think mine is pulling at about 1 1/2 pounds without a bunch of spring changes. Oh, you need to lengthen the first stage screw, too.

Thomas,
I saw something on the Diana Forum about taking the first stage trigger screw out and using a fine file, shave a bit of the trigger off making the screw longer.
What do you think?

I refer you to this other thread on the subject.
Maybe some of the info there will help you...

Ok I am home and have had my dinner.
Three left-over tacos and 6 Coors.
I think I am ready to tackle the Diana.
I have received a couple PMs from other shooters, Thomas & Darren.
I turned the 2nd stage CCW some more.
Then I was able to turn the 1st stage one more turn CW.
I shot a couple of shots into a box.
Trigger feels better.
Then I put the target at 13 yards and shot five shots offhand sitting (remember the 6 beers?).
Not bad at all.
I think I will get a longer screw which should give me more adjustment. As it is, I think the adjustment screw is bottoming out on the trigger itself.
I just like the weight and the recoil of the Diana (almost like the TX200 and Darren's Bam 40s).

UPDATE...
This trigger is sweet now.
Took the stock off.
Removed 1st stage trigger screw and while using the 2nd stage screw as a blocker carefully removed about 1/32th inch of the trigger with a fine file.
On the trigger surface below where the 1st stage trigger would rest.
Put everything back together and tightened the 1st stage trigger fully.
Too much.
Trigger would fire when I released the safety.
CCW on the 1st stage one complete turn.
Now the trigger/sear stays cocked.
Test.
Whoa!
I need to get a trigger scale.
This badboy is almost hair-like.
I like it!
13 Yard target again, this time off of the sticks.
A quick three 10.34s at 885fps.
Not bad:

And here I was, planning a trip to CA to go through your scrap heap! ROFL!
T-O1 triggers are, possibly, the worst dis-service Doc. Beeman pulled on the American Airgunner.
Mechanically speaking it's a great trigger, though a little slow for offhand and kneeling shots.
Glad you now like your 52!
Keep shooting it and it will give you many satisfying results.

Thanks for your kind words Hector.
I still have the trigger you sent me.
Motorhead said I can use his drill press to drill the holes.
The way the rifle is shooting now with just the first stage, I guess I can back the 2nd stage out, huh?

Just a tad.
The lightest possible trigger pull on T-O1's is precisely where you are now.
Moving anything too much will alter the balance of the whole setup.
What you can do is file and polish the faces of the screws.
Keep well and shoot straight!
