Don't ya just hate it when you are hard at it shooting targets set up at different ranges, and the Discovery/Maximus bolt breaks and your fist smacks ya square in the nose and Mouth!!! ;DGRRRR!!!

Gotta figure the thread size tomorrow, and make a new bolt.

A Discovery is the first pcp that I bought but I soon got absorbed by pcp's big time after that, since then I've seen many threads about this on this forum and it's fairly common. I'm sure that you'll get more replies on this subject for sure. My biggest gripe wasn't about a pcp, it was about getting it right between the eye's with a scope from shooting my one and only springer, then I felt the blood trickling down. NO MORE SPRINGERS for me

I have a few field, target, and maybe even one or two blunts lying around. I'll take a look.

Soon as I get the darned bolt and what is left of the bolt handle out and ready for a new handle. GRRRRR!!!

glad you got it up and running.

i also solved the problem of the bolt flipping up at the shot by using some spacers/washers on the shank of the field point,

so that when the gun is loaded and the bolt is closed i can snug the field point up with my fingers and the washers tighten against the breech and it does not jump at the shot.

dont really notice that it made any difference,probably more mental than anything LOL

Well, the shaft of point was just a little too large in Dia, and galled the slit in the tube, and now it won't cock.

I thought at first it was the hammer binding, and milled the hammer for nylon buttons. (Very nice by the way)!

I now need to find a tool, (will probably make it), to hone the pathway for the bolt itself.

Well, I feel a little slow today. I honed the tube where the hammer rides, and the bolt pathway.

Now for the Big Reveal-----The threading of the arrow was hitting the opposite side of the bolt tube. DUH!!!

I had already miced every thing, and was sure this was not the issue.
When I pulled the bolt handle, (arrow point) there were no marks on the end. Not the First, second, third time I pulled it! Butttttttt----Low and behold, there was the tail-tale galling. Grrrrrr!!

All fixed now, For Now. LOL!!!

the field point hitting the other side of the tube where the bolt rides was my main reason for adding spacers to it,

and the locking ability of the bolt afterwards was a secondary bonus

Put a BNM multi shot breech and shroud on it. Problem solved....
