My First RWS
«

I took delivery of a brand spanking new RWS Diana 34 T06 a couple of days ago. I've maybe put 50 pellets through it to check that everything works and it shoots straight, but very happy so far. Hoping to spend some quality time with it this weekend to see how it groups and play with the trigger pull (not much to adjust there... I liked the trigger pull it has out of the box, but I may lighten it a tad to get closer to my other springer).
Thanks everyone that gave me feedback while I was trying to decide what to buy.
Only two things that I think will take a bit of getting used to... 1) wow it is a long rifle. All I have been shooting for the last couple months has been my TX200HC and 392. I must have just got used to the carbine length. The 34 feel a bit odd. I will get used to it. 2) It has more recoil than I thought it would. Again, I think I just got used to the TX.
Once I get around a 500-1000 pellets through it, I plan on attempting my first tune. I'm looking forward to getting in there and trying to setup everything just right (and hopefully not screwing anything up while I do it
).

How close did you get the trigger to your AAs?

its ok but not as good as an AA trigger but give it some time to break in, you got to get the balance between the 2 screws just right and then it pretty good but not as good so far as an AA trigger as of yet but it my never be as good either as the CD trigger but it'll be good enough!

Thanks all.
We had our first spell of dry weather over the last 36hours which meant I spent the day doing the yard work I haven't been able to do for the last two weeks (mowing, then re-mowing because the first pass looked pretty bad, edging, weed eating, tree trimming, hedge trimming, etc...). After that and some other non-yard related chores, I just passed out on the couch. The upside being, I got everything out of the way today, so tomorrow I get to play with my new shooter
I've got a selection of pellets to try out and a bunch of paper targets all ready to get hung in my trap... of course, according to Mr. Murphy, I'll probably have a tornado touch down in my yard or something else that will preempt my fun
Crossing my fingers and knocking on wood for a nice, quiet sunday punctuated with the PING of lead smacking into a steel trap

My session on Sunday got cut short, so no trigger adjustments yet, but shooting open sights, offhand at 10, 15, and 20 yards I was getting nickel sized 5 shot groups consistently when I did my part (a few flyers here and there... all attributable to me not timing my trigger pull correctly).
I only got to put 14.3g Discovery and 18.1 JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbos through it in the time I had to play. Both shot similar tight groups, though.
All in all, happy and looking forward to my next session with the 34.

slothart, you have the Diana I'm looking to get! from context it seems that there's no point in looking at getting a tune until about 1000 pellets have made their way into the air. good stuff! would love to see pics

^^^ What Mark said.
I got sidetracked for the last few weeks with some general life stuff and another project, so I am still breaking mine in, but once I get at least 500-1000 pellets through it, I'll be purchasing a tuning kit and attempting my first DIY tune (
http://vortekproducts.com/ourstore/Tuning-Kits
).

The dianas with the t06 triggers are the easiest guns to work on i have. Build a spring compressor and you are in business. That vortek kit will make it shine for sure.
