Walther LGV arrived today

The brown truck arrived around noon. Got the gun unboxed and was impressed with the quality.
Cleaned the barrel, went outside and put around 25 pellets thru it. Mounted the scope and after a quick site in started shooting groups.
After 3-4 shots getting used to the trigger, first group was dime sized at 15 yards. This gun was grouping great with very little break in.

First impression is trigger is not as good as HW, but I was still able to get good accuracy. And I didn't try to adjust it much.
I bought the tuning trigger from Krale with the gun for about $20 more. Going to wait till later to install it.

I tried 15 different pellets and the gun liked 10 of them. Many dime or less groups. I have never had a gun group this good, this fast.
Shot with the gun rested on my back deck rail on a towel, on shooting sticks, and rested on my hand. Same POI with all. 
Doesn't seem too hold sensitive. Averaging right at 850 fps with CPL's.

Love the barrel latch, really like not having to slap the barrel to open.
About the same weight as my 97K.

The LGV is one of the best! The stock plastic trigger is good but the screw in the trigger to short. Install a longer screw, about 1/16 in. longer. The best way is to cock it and screw it in until it fires them back it off 1 turn and adjust to your likes.  Now it's a great trigger! Have fun your going to love it!   Don

The first stage screw is a metric M3 0.5 mm and you can try 20 mm length. Round, polish, and lube the end. I haven't tried a 25 mm, but I bought one just in case.

Agree, it was one of the best out of the box springers ever, not pellet or hold sensitive, and a truly great springer.

Great report, and that's not the first time I have heard best shooter out of the box for the LGV/LGU.

Joe don't use a hosting site, just upload your pictures to GTA. I resize my pictures to 800x600 if memory servers, with office 2010 then upload them from my computer to GTA.

Resizing is what I don't know how to do, will research that.

Enjoy it!  Triggers can be extremely good with just a little work.  I have a modified stock trigger (LGU) and also the aftermarket Rowan trigger (LGV) and both work great.  Planning to keep my LGV and LGU forever-both are just that good.

My HW80, HW77K & HW97 weigh the same even though I like the balance of the HW77K best.
IIRC, the LGV Master Pro is almost 1 lb. heavier - right?  Maybe it's a balance "thing".

I have two LGVs and three Weihrauchs. I don't think the Walther triggers can ever be as good as the Weihrauch. You might get them down to be as light with very little sear engagement, but once you let off the LGV trigger, usually the sear does not reset, just the trigger blade goes forward. The nice thing about the Weihrauch is that all three of mine fully reset to full sear engagement when I let off of them. A touch of moly and a slight counterclockwise turn of the tension screw can make a Rekord trigger nearly a match grade unit.

In my experience the Walther shoots nicer out of the box, but after a couple of thousand rounds and a good barrel cleaning, my HW98s have exceeded the accuracy off of the bench over my pair of LGVs. Last night I shot two five shot groups of .167 and .187 off the bench with a 98. When it comes to shooting groups offhand, the Weihrauch triggers allow me to down a lot more sparrows due to the much better feel of the trigger.

If someone can really say that they have surpassed the Rekord on the Walther, and it fully resets if let off, I would be very interested to see how they did it.

The 25mm range of  LGV rifles are the best out of the box by far IMO & I'm a HW man.

It's true the XT unit is no Rekord but with some fine tuning & setting it makes for a good set up.The trick is to do very small adjustments to the front 2 screws (Metal blade) after the rear screw for weight is set.
It still has a longish first stage which you get used too or change the screw ,the Rowan blade is also a good addition if you like spending.

I shoot off my deck rail or off shooting sticks, so the weight doesn't bother me.
LGV is around 3/4 of a lb heavier.
If you are going to be shooting off hand mostly, I don't think you will like the weight.
If you are going to shoot benched or "propped" GO FOR IT ! 
My 97K may have a heavier scope on it, when I held them up together I couldn't tell a noticeable difference in the weight.

Hawke 3-12X44 side focus 1/2 mil-dot. Good scope.
The LGV had no droop.
Put longer screw in the trigger yesterday. Gonna do some shooting today and get adjusted. Seemed to make the trigger a lot better.
Already took care of one bird feeder raider.

Been moving it up and down a lot, not just right yet.
Have two guns with adjustable pads, the rest are regular.
I don't even notice it when I swap from one to another. But thanks ! now I will be sensitive to it

Those groups are what you'll achieve at 35 yards, not 35 feet, once you and the rifle "become one".

Doubt I'll ever achieve dime groups at 35 yards, too much heart beat in the scope, too much caffeine. 

Been putting off tryin the sniper mediums cause I sold 9 tins about a month ago.
Got when WalMart had em on sale for bout $6 a tin.
Guns didn't really like them after I bought them. 
Would be my luck to have a gun that likes them now
