I have the guns on my short list because they meet what I am looking for. The Mrod Air Varmint rifle may be something I pick up for a knock around gun. And I already have a CP1 in a cart, but truth be told I raised my budget because the lower cost guns from what I have seen do not meet my standards. I have had German springers and chinese,  I am sorry to say there is no comparison.

I know you have been getting a lot of input, and you definitely have a lot of good ideas and insights already, so I imagine your head is spinning, lol, in a GOOD way, that's one of the pleasures of this hobby, ha! It can be very consuming, for sure.

I fixed my leaky Varmint and I now have two of them up and running. These guns are waaay better than what we used to think of as 'chinese quality'. They are more like entry-level German youth models than anything Chinese. The Diana company is now selling them as the 'Stormsider', and PA is taking pre-orders. Any customer service worries I have with the current seller will be soon forgotten when they start stocking them.

My advice would be to get out shooting as soon as you can, with a gun that you can bang up, scratch up, and mod to high heaven down the road. Get your fill situation squared away, THEN shop the high-dollar, tier one, gun-o-ya-dreams.

There is no 'wrong' way, but there are 'easier' and 'less costly' ways available, lol..

Then when they are moved out one of my top tier picks will be purchased most likely along with a compressor & tank for home. Just threw that $700-$1000 budget out the window lol

Next gun and compressor already in research won't be long till a few powder burners are replaced.

Just measured back yard to set up a 45 yard air gun range should have that done this weekend. Indoor shooting from inside my backyard shed/garage across yard to target shed I'm building so targets at that range can be inside and dry.

Good choice on matching calibers.. now mags can be shared.

Just to throw in another variable and challenge; sending cast rounds puts more responsibility on you as the caster and shooter to get things right including deciding what rounds will work in a given rifle...

But

get it right and you have much improved BC wind bucking etc....

So in the long run you might want to  with that tank choose one of the rifles that lends itself to becoming more towards a power house ...
