HELP!!!  The .25 magazine is stuck in my Benjamin Marauder!

I am not sure what happened this morning, but after loading my .25 magazine with .25 pellets and inserting it into my Benjamin Marauder slot of the rifle, the bolt will not close, and the darn magazine will not come out of the air rifle!

Please help me out if you can.

There's a pellet that's half out of the magazine and halfway in the barrel. You'll need to  remove barrel.

Is it possible that you have a double feed going on?  Some pellets, like Baracuda and JSB 34 grain pellets, can be VERY hard to seat a second one into the barrel, giving the feeling like the bolt simply won't close.

If that is the case, you need to push hard to get it to shut so that you can shoot them out . . .

As Alan said, this is the first and best thing to try first. Be VERY aware that a loaded and charged airgun can be dangerous if not handled correctly when working to clear a jam. Make SURE it stays pointed in a safe direction and the safety is on until you are ready to fire. If you can't force the bolt to complete the loading, drop back in here and we'll press onward with other suggestions. I would think the worst you will do is possibly damage the breech O-ring.

I've had that happen a couple of times.  No Problem.  It is indeed a pellet halfway out of the mag trying to double feed.  I just go ahead and chamber the second pellet, then remove the magazine, and insert a dowel down the front of the barrel to knock the pellets out.  If it's double fed, and you try to shoot them both out, you can damage the baffles.  (You can also remove the baffles, and shoot them out)

It's either that, or you just don't have the bolt pulled back ALL the way...  which is required to remove the mag.

I was freaked out because this Benjamin Marauder .25 has shot perfectly for nearly 3 years now.  Any critter within 70 yards did not stand a chance.

The wife and I fiddled with it repeatedly, still no release.  I tried turning the gun upside down, tapping the magazine, still no go.  Right side up, still no go.  Bolt definitely all the way back.

Super frustrating while I watched the pest birds repeatedly destroying our plums...dang!

Contemplated smashing the magazine out with a punch and hammer..decided I needed to cool off.

Took off the shroud, put a .20 wood dowel down the barrel, finally got the mag out.  And then the terrible discovery...I had inserted a pellet backwards in the mag and the entire fault lay 100% with me.  Sure felt dumb for quite a while.

Decided to clean the barrel since we had everything apart.  Reassembled and it didn't shoot worth a darn!  This pellet rifle has given me single holes at 50-70 yards on a daily basis for years...

Light went on, remembered to loosen the shroud.  Re-sighted, then sent many dumb, plumb eating pests to the next world.

Mission accomplished!

  Don't beat yourself up too  badly we all have occasional brain farts ask Rocker1 and DEz and me also. Picked up my 2240 Co2 pistol to dry fire at a carpenter bee and forgot I had shot it down the night before playing in the man cave. By the time I ran down stairs and got a fresh cartridge the dang bee was long gone , now I just need to remember to pierce the new cartridge before I try to eliminate the pesky flying nuisance.

I have the same problem and I can see on the left side of the rifle that it does look like a pellet is half in and half out of the barrel. I'm going to buy a wooden dowel tomorrow and try to push it back into the magazine.

You can knock the magazine out from left with a piece of wood and hammer
It will shear the pellet in half, the magazine is much harder than lead.
Done it many times on 177

  Thanks, that worked!  Although now I can't get that magazine to index properly.  I imagine it took more force because mine is a .25 caliber. No big deal though as I still have 2 other magazines. Thanks again.

 I  had some similar mags jam like that , was able to hold the gun pointed upwards and work the mag back n forth until it freed its self. The pellet was a little damaged in the skirt area. The cause I deducted was that the advance spring had slipped out of its notches, and I had to tweek the spring ends and retention the spring.

The knocking probably dislodged the bottommost coil of the magazine spring and it is stuck under the middle part which spins.
Open the magazine and reset the spring and make sure all of the spring is in the center and not being squeezed under.

My brother is having this same problem with his new .25 MRod.
How do I learn how to disassemble the magazine and
retension the magazine spring?
The only YouTube video I saw on this did not give a visual,  only a verbal explanation.

Seen that happen many times on the Guantlet when using crosman ammo.   The ammo is a hard allow (much harder than JSB) and the head sizes vary so some of the pellets jam and you can't probe them in.   

I took a .22 cal brass cleaning rod and ran it from the front end to nudge the pellet back into the magazine then it came out.

My fix is to just use JSB ammo, never had it happen with them.

this happened to me today with my .22 Marauder.....I just kept pulling te bolt back to no avail... thought about firing  it ...DONT!!!!!!

finally pulled back the bolt far enough

 removed the mag

doweled the barrel (1/8 inch)

4 pellets came out

good to go....

If the rifle is fairly new the cocking bolt you are not careful you can double feed and the second pellet may not chamber completely.
My suggestion is to set the safety and draw the bolt back completely then get a long dowel and very carefully tap the pellet back. After each gentile tap try to remove the magazine. Once you remove the magazine continue to remove pellets until you can see the dowel in the breech. Key to this is gentile and careful, also wear eye protection.

I read where a lot of guys are using wooden dowels......... to remove pellets etc.

Have you given any thought to what would happen, if that wooden dowel would break or splinter inside your rifled bore?      

You would have a major headache/problems, more so than the stuck pellet,
I have had several 22 LR barrels with broken/stuck wooden dowels in them, come into the shop.

If you live in an area that has Leaf Cutter bee's, they LOVE 17, 22, 243 and 257 cal barrels to plug up,
just put a sticker/tape across the bore to seal it and that will solve the problem, and you can shoot thru the tape with no problems etc.

IMHO,
I would get a metal, proper SIZED for the cal being cleared, remove the sharp edges of the rod end,
make the end flat, DO NOT make the end sharp pointed, as the pellet will swagged into the bore.
 
You can get Alum, steel or bronze welding rods and there is little chance of having O.. S... moment,
any of these metal rods would get the job done etc and not hurt the bore.. if used correctly.

In defense of my use of the wooden dowel it was all I had I was also very careful not to be too aggressive with my light weight hammer
