NP2 TRIGGER WORK

I did the trigger polish, nylon washers and spring on my NP2 22 also put brass washers on barrel. The gun is shooting really good now. I re-tightened the barrel after a few hundred rounds. I must have tried a dozen different pellets and after grabbing a tin of Ruger pellets at Wally World the gun really likes them. They weigh in at 17.2 grains on my powder scale. At 20 yards a ten shot group is easily covered with a dime. The trigger is still not as i would like it to be, so i broke down and sent my $30 to get a CBR trigger to see if it takes it to the next level.. I like the way the nitro piston gun shoots, not as fussy as my springers. But i wish it had the t06 trigger my RWS model 34 has.... It now shoots as good as my RWS 34, hoping the cbr gets it close to the t06 trigger....

please shoot responsibly! don't shoot papaya fruit with a crosman 760 and pellets like i did when i was 11.. back in 1986
they get stuck inside and they don't make a good sound in blender according to grandma her cousin said the papaya had hard seeds and she never seen that but tasted great!
may they rest in peace!

The NP2 trigger is a far cry from the older NP trigger it replaces. A proper spring and some nylon washers make it even better.
If you look for it to equal the T06 you will probably be disappointed.

i did the nylon washers to take up the slop and a lighter spring on trigger, also polished it. It is way better than stock form but still not as good as i would like it to be. i just hope the CBR will make it even better.

The most important consideration in that trigger is probably the spring strength. You will get a new spring with the CBR trigger.
There is a limit on how light you can go with the spring. If you go too light the sear will not latch.
The older NP trigger pack will work in an NP2 gun if you wish. With the GRT III trigger it has a REALLY light pull. Unfortunately it's REALLY hard to detect when it hits the second stage. The pull gets EASIER not harder at that point.

hmm im undecided which i like best.. the NP trigger with bearing mod.. or the NP2 stock with softened spring.
i find the NP more predictable with the bearing than the NP2 not feeling second stage..
maybe i need to play with screw more to find sweet spot.

I don't know about a "sweet spot" on the NP2 trigger. On mine, if the spring was too stiff I could not feel the second stage.
With a milder spring the second stage appeared. There was just a very narrow range where it existed. I just used the original adjustment screw, my only substitution was the spring.
There are better triggers out there but with a bit of tweaking I found it quite acceptable.

The CBR trigger will make a huge difference. I have an NP2 that I polished, it helped but doesn't compare to the CBR. In my humble but accurate opinion it's worth the money.
