Since you dont want to let it go like Bob suggest you, I will fill in a little...  BOB IS A GREAT GUY AND I HIGHLY ESTIMATE HIM AS A HUMAN KIND AND RESEARCHER TOO... I will use the same sentence and tell you that you have let TRACE on this topic and everyone is interpret your anger and see how you behave yourself... My little push on Bob was a friendly one and no bad intentions behind it.. Matt is onto something here and you are not contributing in any way..  If you dont want to contribute, at least dont INTERFERE.... Just as a question to throw in the mix, do you have an equation to calculate the CC capacity and the changes in tempeture that will effect the FPE?
It seems that the regulator will modulate the pressure but does the tempeture has a huge effect like in the powder burners??

I know that HE knows that this method of obtaining plenum volume requirements is onto something...you can CLEARLY read it in his wording,

I am deliberately careful with my wording when I don't understand something fully.... and I have great difficulty following your logic a lot of the time because you don't fully explain how you arrived at your formulas and conclusions.... Think what you like, but don't offer your interpretations of my statements to suit yourself....

I know this thread is old but the info is still valid. May I ask a silly question...? Is there a downside to having a plenum that is larger than your target power level ? How inefficient is it if the plenum is too large  by say 2X ?

I have accomplished a few things in my life. Much came from thinking out of the box. I've admired,  enjoyed the math and intellect from Bob, also enjoy out of the box thinking which we should welcome.

I guess I am wondering if a low power (12-18 fpe in .22cal ) setup can have an over sized plenum for 'room to grow'. I imagine one could put a plug in a plenum to take up space ?

That idea has merit, but the short coming is the REGULATOR it self on how sensitive it is to slight pressure drops ( Big Plenum ) or if it only recovers well from large drops in pressure ( Small plenum )
Ninja types reg ( designed for paintball guns originally ) really like a big gulp of air over small sips and recover quite fast, where as HuMa regs do best with small sips of air and recover accurately tho slow.

Could you possibly go with a lower psi reg setting and less hammer spring? And 'wow' after reading those first three pages I'm glad that the forums have been tamed down from that.

 Sadly as much as folks love "Numbers" and tangible figures to adjust tune specs with, each gun and it's caliber power etc .. sort of become there own animal.  Understanding the parameters of what tuning entails really becomes more the game along with being able to shoot accurately.   There is much "in depth" to regulator settings, finding the natural bell curve, tuning under what is referred too as the knee and getting one guns to operate in the sweet spot.
I really can't offer any magic formula or data points for a follow the dots sort of tune regiment for success. Cliche as it may be .. knowledge is power.

Is it knowledge or is it just plain old hands on experience Scott. Which in a nutshell becomes knowledge so yeah maybe it is KNOWLEDGE.
