Hottest tune on an AA s510 in .25

So I love my .22 Ultimate Sporter with the Lane Regulator.

I am considering a longer distance gun, .25 or .30 for the future.

I have been weighing the pro's and con's of each.

I am leaning toward the .25 for afford ability, and the fact that I could turn down enough to
be backyard friendly for practice.

The other side is that if I compete it will be at Rio Salado for 75 yard or 100 yard.
If you have ever watched or shot a match there you know this is a windy river bottom canyon that is anything
but friendly to air guns.

So this brings me back to the original question.
How hot has anyone got an Air Arms to go?
I have spotted a nice S510 in .25 for a decent price and I am considering it as an option.
But I want to be able to produce enough power to fight the wind.
Most are shooting .30 for 100 yard, but if I can get a .25 hot enough I might give it a whirl.

If I can shoot a JSB 33.9 gr. .25 pellet up 815 fps that would put me at 50 fpe.
Would that be beyond a tuned S510 with a regulator?

Nope .... Design of Valve, Hammer and Transfer path Severely limit that guns power potential.

My (stock) s510 .25 shoots the Jsb 25.4's at 830 and that's at the top of the power curve.  I have chronied the AA 25.4's and they make it to 840 fps.  At this speed wind affects the pellets A LOT.  I have seen that with a regulator people can get the 25.4's going about 865 for a decent number of shots but I think that is about the limit.  It isn't a powerhouse that's for sure but I love it.  And it still waxes squirrels out to 70 yards no problem...

would pipe in on it.

Justin it is always good to hear hands on what other users have found for limits.

Looks like my Ultimate Sporter will have only the Prosport sibling.
Then someday it will have an American cousin in the form of a RAW. I know you approve of those Scott!

Since the day I bought my s510 xtra fac I( have regretted not spending the extra for an ultimate sporter.  PA had a .25 US refurb (the one with the q-tec mod) for I think $1249...  I can't remember but I paid something like $1100 for mine.  Worth every penny I say.  They are beautiful rifles.  Air Arms would do well to join in on the regulated/shot count fun though.  No reason they can't use a larger tube and wind a reg. into it.

I agree great rifles, love mine.
Just wish they made something with more juice.
I am amazed they have not made a regged bottle gun.
I put a reg on my .22 and it is great.

Maybe you can get lucky like me and find someone selling the U.S. stock.
cost a pretty penny though but I love it, much nicer fit to me than my thumbhole stock.
