Best pellet for HW30

What I have on hand is some JSB exact and JSB basic, JSB lights, RWS super h point, H&N FTT.

I guess, one of these days, I will get one of those .177 rifles/pistols.  I have some .177 pellets that I blow out of my smooth bore Benjamin 310BB.  But I don’t think that counts.

.177 is my favorite- faster, lighter, plenty for bird pesting, and great for targets.
I have had a few .22's, but have gotten rid of most of them- still have a 60's model Diana model 55 in .22, which is an underlever/tap loader, but I keep it on a display up on the wall, and never shoot it. No reason to-

So far my testing has been limited but RWS Superdomes seems to be shooting well.

Hi Lizzie!

Most of my HW30s/R7 babies have shot well with most anything light to medium weight. All three of the lighter JSBs are likely 'best pellet' with any of them, but all seem to thrive on 8.44's, regardless. I once had an older one that had a wide bore, and JSBs just fell out when closing the breech, but it shot cheap RWS domes like a laser, and they fit nicely, too, so no worries there.

I consider these babies to be like 'pellet disposals', lol, anything you dump down 'em seems to work. I have burned through quite a few tins of oddball pellets while plinking with my posse. Some guns are super finicky, not these!

I have gone bonkers with accuracy testing with these, and sometimes you find surprising results. I had one newer R7 that shot better with Beeman Silver Bears than anything else. And they are cheaper than JSBs, too!

And it's the one combination where my most accurate pellet also happens to be the most efficient. Avg 679 fps/8.05 fpe!

Lizzie, our two HW30s aren't terribly pellet fussy, but for shooting out to 30 yards, the JSB 7.3s do as good as any. When I want to shoot out at 50 - and I do sometimes shoot both of the 30s at 50 yards - I find that the heavier pellets group better. I especially like the JSB Express 7.87s. In fact, that's now what I shoot in our two HW30s at all distances and also in our HW50S. That weight seems to be a good match for this power level.

My HW30S shoots about any pellet good but without a doubt the JSB RS 7.33 grain pellet is off the charts.  Buy a bunch of them.  If you research you will find I am not the only one that has figured this out.  A HW30 and JSB 7.33 pellets are a winning combo.  They were made for each other.
