I give up on my Disco and it's cursedly small loading port

Shoots accurately, easy to pump up, gets 20 good shots per fill after taking a few coils off the spring while still doing 850 fps with CPHP's.
But it is such a royal pain to load that I reach for my Benjamin Trail NP almost every time now. With a scope on the Disco using medium rings, I struggle to get those little .177-cal pellets loaded. If I put higher mounts on, I have to lift my cheek too far off the stock.
I'm at a loss right now. I don't want to sell it, because it does what I need, but this is ridiculous. Rebarreling to .22-cal would make loading a little easier, but I like the flat trajectory of the .177.

Some have been able to use a pellet pen after getting used to using it w/a bolt.

Move your scope rings forward of the loading port and there is plenty of clearance. I need to for proper eye relief with the short stock anyway. If you are worried it may be too flimsy use a one piece mount for a springer.

I had the same problem even with the 22 cal.'
Pellet would roll over half the time.
I resorted to round balls for awhile, no wrong way to insert.
Finally just installed a Williams peep sight.
It's now my short range rifle.
I have plenty of others with scopes for longer range shooting.
I don't believe any bolt action is immune to this difficulty.
Could also try a red-dot sight mounted forward of the breech.

I got use to it after while, but don't have real thick fingers and adapted to the "side roll" style of loading quickly.
One solution is to try higher scope mounting....and as long as the scope is jacked up a bit, try a full length 1" scope with a larger objective (figuring, the scope is already higher...may as well put the height to some use with the bigger objective). Gives you the finger room, but does result in a bit heavier rifle, and depending on how you like to cheek the stock, possible would need some kind of cheek riser.
OR can just sell it and buy a repeater PCP (which I'd prefer over a repeater breech conversion of a Disco just on a $ basis; there are repeater PCP's for a lot less $ now than there were just a year or two ago.) Repeaters do NOT mean you have to shoot at a faster pace...can still shoot shots at as slow a pace as you'd care to...but they are (1) the cleanest/easiest way to cary spare ammo and (2) put all the frustration of loading in one short period of time.

Would it help to get a different breech like a BNM? That would even give you an option to use a mag.
