Has anyone succeeded in building a new Crosman Bulldog Chassis?

I've always been intrigued by the Crosman Bulldog but have read that the stock clam-shell chassis flexes and affects accuracy.  Plus I think it's ugly lol but I've always been a function over form guy so I can tolerate the looks if it shoots good.

So like the subject states: has anyone tried to create a new chassis for the Bulldog?

Or how about at least filling the current shell with devcon and glass bedding the rifle?  Would that help?

I recently got one and have read those comments, but have not seen any postings or reports on performing that type of mod to it.

Thanks guys!  It seems the rifle has potential.  I remember a thread where there were discussions going back and forth where one guys Bulldog was super accurate and everyone else's accuracy left them desiring more. 

Some surmised the cause was the action moving around in the synthetic shell and the rifling wasn't optimal.

I got the glass bedding idea after I posted my thread.  It seems doable as long as the devcon doesn't dissolve the shell material.  But most likely will have a tough time getting the gun apart for service lol.

It would be cool if there was a Teryx aluminum chassis or Boyd's laminate stock.  I prefer the classic rifle style over the tactical look.

After reading more the rifle is technically a Benjamin not a Crosman.  I aplogize for the error.

This is an intriguing idea, Taso.

I would start by testing different adhesives on it (if you can't get a definitive answer to the exact plastic used, for solvent type bonding)... and look for places to put thin sheet "gussets" in (keep the weight down). Cut card stock to fit, and dupe that in sheet.

Thanks Eric!  I don't own a Bulldog but I thought it would be a neat thumper for kicks and maybe a big pest animal if I found one at a good price.  Problem is only accurate rifles are interesting to me.   

If it isn't accurate or can't be fixed it will end up in the classifieds lol.

If you get one, drop me a note at the shop. A few pics of the chassis, flexed, and I can spot where to add what. Used to do that kind of thing with human occupied "weapons".

If mine can group the JSB 81g within an inch at 50yds, I plan to keep it.  My first time shooting it got about 1.5" at 50.  The chrony testing in the basement 10y range, able to do essentially one pellet hole.  I should have some 50y results within the next week.  Given the noise, need to be more selective in when I shoot it. 

It is hearing protection loud and has a severe ping.  Once I know the accuracy is good enough, a LDC will be added.  For depinger, I have an aluminum cross-flow from a Mrod, that I plan to open up and add a fatter o-ring, for first try.
