this is from another forum I hope everybody takes it seriously and send in a letter.
Email From PyramydAir

I just got an email from PyramydAir...... Here it is:
No more black airguns!
If you enjoy shooting your Walther PPK/S or a Crosman C11, you better
get used to them being ALL red or ALL blue or ALL green -- or
completely clear!
California State Senator Kevin de Leon thinks your black airguns are
dangerous and has proposed CA Senate Bill 798 to stop you from having
them. SB 798 states that all airguns MUST be painted brightly. No more black guns!
Some background
In December 2010, three boys were shooting their airsoft guns in a public park. It was dark, but
their pistols had orange muzzles. The police confronted them and ordered them to put down their
guns. Two boys complied but the third did not. He was shot and suffered severe injuries.
To prevent another such occurrence, Sen. de Leon had a knee-jerk reaction and wrote SB 798 to
stop EVERYONE from buying, owning or shooting black airguns.
It gets worse!
This new law also affects airsoft guns, which millions of people safely use for re-enactments,
skirmishing and maintaining firearm proficiency.
If you hate orange muzzles on your airsoft guns, what are you going to do when the ONLY airsoft
guns you can buy, carry or shoot are red, blue, green or completely clear?
California's Penal Code prohibits the sale and distribution of imitation firearms. BB devices, which
are listed as airsoft guns and BB guns, are specifically excluded from that law. HOWEVER, SB 798
adds airsoft guns and BB guns to the list of imitation firearms that are prohibited UNLESS those guns
are brightly colored.
YOU are guilty
Because you shoot a "BB device," Sen. de Leon thinks you're not a responsible person and must be
forced to have brightly colored guns for your own protection. Basically, he's saying you're guilty by
association because you shoot one of these guns!
While we sympathize with the boy who was injured in last December's incident, that does not give
Sen. de Leon the right to include every airsoft or BB gun owner as someone who needs the
government to tell them what to do.
What you can do
If California passes this bill, other states will get similar bills going. Whether you live in California or
elsewhere, show your support for airsoft and airgun owners everywhere.
Click here to go to our facebook page to download a letter that you can send to Senator de Leon
and your own California representatives about SB 798.
Do it today -- tomorrow may be too late!

I got the email from PA today. It will most likely cover only new guns, and only in CA as of right now. I mean when they outlawed certain Assault rifles, we were still able to keep what we had. anyway, wood stocks will still be wood stocks. I'm not a huge fan of synthetic stocks anyway.

I think the point is that they're trying to take a little at a time away from us, and it's working. These guys might be idiots, but they're patient. A little here and there until its too late for us to do anything about it. If you live in CA I urge you to do everything in your power to stop this bill from passing.
Thanks,
Daniel

I got the same e-mail today also(I live in Ohio), but Daniel is right. I compare it to the old frog saying"If you toss a frog into boiling water it will jump right out, but if you place him in the same pot an just slowly raise the temp he will sit there till he boils to death", Don't be a frog guys stand for your rights BEFORE they are gone, even the ones that seem small add up.

Everyone, not just those in Ca, should voice their concerns. If it passes in Ca, who knows how many other states will adopt this law?

How ignorant may they be? Criminals wil paint their REAL weapons those colors.
The LE community will then have to approach every painted gun (real or not) as if it were real.
This proposal smells of rotten fish, already.

Guys - I'm Australian - all I can say is watch out - its taken 20 years or so in Australia but *they* have managed to take away most of our guns already - and made just about everything else illegal too - and getting new guns or even keeping the guns you have is going to be made more and more impossible back in the ''land down under''...
Where they see hardcore opposition they find ways around it - they make it harder and harder to go through the process of firearms applications - for you guys I believe it takes about 15 minutes - in Australia now it can take you a YEAR to go through the process of getting ONE NEW FIREARM on your license - and that AUTOMATICALLY excludes a whole range of weapons - NOTHING fully automatic, NO semiautomatic weapons except for pistols for club use target shooting only (extremely controlled and with compulsory ongoing requirements) and now they are even banning calibres - no more .50, no more .338 and now the latest one is to attack people like me who have .308s - it just keeps getting worse and worse...
I guess what I am saying is do what you can now BEFORE it gets like it is in Australia...

The only real threat from guns is to the government not being able to control it's citizens(subjects when guns are controled) when they want to do something that is not right.

Hmmm...my wife wanted to visit Australia, soon. Guess we'll be looking for other points of interest!
So, no tourist dollars for Australia from my family!

I hear you North Pack - I got to the point where I had a standard 50 page response every time the govt asked for ''feedback'' from the public - citing everything from the magna carta, bill of rights, etc, etc. - PROVING (legally) that we have the same constitutional right to bear arms that you guys do - and that what was being done was illegal - I have YET to have a real response to any/all of my submissions... What the govt does in Oz now is VERY sneaky - when they saw SO MANY PEOPLE like me putting in submissions and opposing even more gun controls they went QUIET on that but changed the procedures to make applying for a firearm even harder - its no longer the local police - its an online application with the local post office - and is now SO INVOLVED and can come back to you SO MANY TIMES that you are looking at a MINIMUM of 12 months and even then likely to be knocked back - the system is now so unworkable MOST people give up (EXACTLY what they want...) Its a really involved issue...
Just ONE more example - the police ''accidentally'' had a problem with the firearms licensing database/computer system - and LOST heaps of records - and remember that in Australia the responsibility for renewing the license each year is yours - THEY don't have to send out the reminder notice - what I see happening this year is MANY people will suddenly (overnight) find they are ILLEGAL and having to RENEW their firearms licenses all over again like NEW applications - and when THAT happens they will apply all the new rules/nasty stuff to people who like me have had firearms licenses/firearms since they were 18... Yet another chance to deny applications/confiscate firearms...
Basically - with firearms in Australia the anti-gun scumbags have a simple approach - the ''end justifies the means'' and what they want is nothing less than the 100% disarmament of the Australian population - right down to pocket knives - they have even BANNED swords in a couple of states (I know about this because I have been a hardcore campaigner on this one too - for people wanting to protect family heirlooms, be legitimate collectors, martial artists, etc...)
Mmmmmh - before the blood pressure goes through the roof I'd better stop there - but lets just say that one of the reasons I am seriously thinking about Argentina long term is that they do NOT have the same insane anti-gun laws that we have back in Oz - I don't like the idea of living in a country where ''my own'' government denies me the right to have what I want or to do what I want - that just doesn't sit well with me...

If it passes in Ca., Wa. will follow.Ca. thinks its a country, not a state, and screws up things for everybody dumb enough to follow their lead. Wa. follows them real well in a lot of cases. It's quite pathetic that this stuff is even thought up. Don't get me started....

Supposedly this only effects replica gun, airsoft and air guns that are made to resemble "real" guns.
I would think that would also include the Walther lever-action rifles too. Yuck, a hot pink lever gun
So, we all know that a scoped springer rifle is not a replica of a firearm, but to the great unwashed that Gamo Big Cat or Diana 34 may look like you're toting "deer rifle" around in your back yard.
I hope this insanity doesn't spread out of Kalifornia.

Hi i live in Hawaii and we have one of the strictest gun laws in U.S, as for airsoft guns we already have it with orange front tips. Most active airsoft players customize there guns for better performance and in doing so the tips are change w/custom parts. I have not yet heard of anyone here being cited for not having color tips on the airsoft. I believe there are enough firearms laws out. Maybe more education in this area may be an alternate way to go. And yes we should do our best to be involved with any new regulations that intrude on our freedom to enjoy a sport be it airsoft/ pellet/ BB as our past time.
so GET INVOLED IF YOU LIVE IN CA
