On the hunt for new sub $ 700.00 PCP BSA Scorpion?

I think the round with the Hatsan QE long is just about over.   Too many issues that added up to alot of time.

So now in the market for another PCP.

On the BSA what is the difference between the Scorpion SE and the Scorpion 1200 SE??
Both regulated?
Tank size?

Have the SE 1200.  It's longer and heavier.  Would not want to pack this thing for any sort of distance.  Neither is regulated.  And the "shroud"  on the SE 1200 is pretty much only for show.  Also have a Buccaneer in 177. Honesty prefer it due to weight and length.

I have only about a dozen pellets through mine but I will add a couple more details on the 1200 SE.  The barrel is 24 inches versus 18.5 on the non 1200.  The 1200 has a full length shroud but no silencing is designed into it.  The end of the barrel leaves about an inch of room, so I have read, between it and the interior end of the shroud.

Th air cylinder is longer on the 1200.

Bullpups are normally easier to shoulder but owning both BSA and Evanix (Kral uses the same design as Evanix) I must say BSA is much more refined as a small bore gun. Is BSA Scorpion SE in carbine length available to you? That would be my choice for a nice shouldering hunting gun.

Out with the Hatsan At 44 QE long and in with a new BSA Scorpion SE synthetic stock in .22 cal.

Almost went for the 1200 but after owning the QE long I found I was spoiled a bit with my Regal and Brocock, both under 7 pounds and easy to carry.  The 1200 is just a bit on the heavy side.

The Scorpion SE is smaller and has fewer shots but its under 8 pounds.   So the lower weight helped me decide.  Price?  $630.00 free shipping PA.

Lol Dbez1 you asked me the same exact question when I got the Hatson. 

Look if I had to keep one gun its going to be the Daystate.   In 2013 I shot Fx, Daystates, Mrods, at precision. 
Nothing there outshot it including the airwolf they just got in.  It was 1799 marked down to 1300.  The more expensive Daystates only offered more shots and ugly bottle.   But I like variety plus I have buddies without air guns.  Can't all shoot the daystate at same time and I don't want multi regals. 

Also I like to try out new toys,  maybe I can find a sub 700 gun that shoots as good as my Daystate.   
I might get a Kral too and also a Guantlet.  I like variety in my guns.

The next expensive gun I get might be a FX impact or Daystate Wolverine 2 highlite.    Probably the Daystate.

The BSA sounds like a great gun, excited to get it.

I've been tempted on Airforce,  I'm old school hard for me to get use to that all metal look of airforce and FX guns like the impact.   Not this time around but I'll put it in my future list.

BSA had issues with nickel plating flaking on some probes so aftermarket probes were introduced to fix that. In Europe Weihrauch LDC is the most common choice and a benchmark other LDCs are compared to, most fail to reach the efficiency of HW unit and the price is only around 40-50 eur. Hugget is another good choice but much more expensive. Hogan is also very close to HW in efficiency and price.

Options for your TKO that will all be happy to take your money (not that there is anything wrong with TKO, that is what my Scorpion has), in no particular order:
1. Neil Clague
2. David (Rocker1), and admin here on GTA
3. Baxter Walton (bwaltonpcp.net)
4. a Huub barrel shroud from XTX air
And probably other folks I'm not thinking of right away

Do you know if Rancidtom makes pin style probes for the Scorpion rifles?  Or does he only make the original style flow through probes?
