It's been a while guys.  I depinger my .22 marauder with pvc tubing. That was eons ago. Would like to depinger my .25 now. What's the prevailing method these days?

Here's the picture of the one that I just took out my .25.  I put the cut off end in a vise and twisted it as tight as I could get it so that no bristles would come out, then put it in.  It works fine just don't go to
$1 store or go too cheap on the brush you use, spend a little more on a quality bottle brush, $5 at babies r us.
Don't forget to have  new o ring for and silicone lube in case you nick the o ring. I'd still be using mine but I just installed a regulator so no need for depinger anymore, and personally regulator is the best depinger you can get no ping at all.  I had been using a depinger +  brush and still had a little ping only became an issue when I added bullpup stock and ear on the tube.

i've been using a super cheap one in a co2 rifle and it works great so far. i just pulled on the bristles to check for loose ones and jammed it in there. with the brush being fairly tight in there i doubt the bristles will come out. but if they do it's a simple tear down to get it out of the valve and put back together.

I recently picked up a .22 Bullboss, and the PING (twang) was horrible!! Each shot just twanged ... so I did some research before doing the rubber tubing fix ... and found several mentions of the baby bottle brush solution.

I picked one up (eventually found a wire one) and they are ALL the same whether you pay several $ or 1 at dollar stores! I cut it and shaped a hook (to be able to remove it) trimmed all loose bristles, really pulled to make sure nothing is loose, and installed it halfway down the air tube. Sealed everything up, filled up and took several shots ....

Surprise!!! No more twang, no ping! It works very well, and has not caused any issues, loss of power, change of poi or anything else! Just a nice quiet shooter.

The cross-flow depinger from WAR will not impact your shot curve/string.   I have used the earlier aluminum version, but the latter 3D printed one should work the same.

I've used the Hill depinger and also rolled up tubing.   They worked okay,  but all got removed.  The best depinger is a regulator.

The 3D printed WAR unit is ROUGH!  It requires a lot of smoothing out with a Dremel and wire wheel.  A drill should also be run through the holes.  Just be careful, as this process causes more little plastic burrs and cling-ons, so you've got to be diligent to make sure it's free of them before final install.  I was highly disappointed in the product, but would buy an aluminum one if it were an option.  It seems to work, though.

As for the bottle brush...  I would be afraid of a bristle falling off, and getting lodged in the valve, keeping it from being able to seal.

Good info.  I hadn't seen anyone post on this issue with the 3D cross-flow before.   Is this more ridges than normal from 3D printing?   Was the smoothing and clean-up needed for fit and function, or just for cosmetic looks?  If the holes were partially blocked, than I would say cleaning them out is required.   But, if it was needed to work, yea, I wouldn't be happy with that either.

I'm not aware of anyone else making Mrod cross-flow depingers, but the cup style do change your shot string.  It is not a drastic change for most tunes, but if looking to tune to higher power levels, than cross-flow type is the way to go.   A guy on the Mrod forum was selling a combined gauge block depinger, which saved some air tube volume.  I'm not 100% sure if it was a cross-flow type. 

And as mentioned above, if you have plans to go to a reg, no need for depinger.

It should be very smooth if you got a rough one it was by mistake and should be returned.

I bought either 2 or 3 of them.  They were ALL rough.  Two have been cleaned up and installed.  I'll have to look and see if I bought the third...  and will post a pic if I did.

That being said, I DO like the design.
