My origional Question to Bob at GTA in reply to an archaic post of his:
Please, any information on this topic would be GREATLY APPRECIATED...
Question: I've Recently setup my Helium tank to Shoebox via a cheap Argon regulator which gives me the option of pretty much any reasonable output psi I wish to use. Bob, you state that you're using 125 psi input pressure to your Shoebox compressor. Firstly, does your Shoebox owners manual call for 85psi as mine does or do we have different models? If yours does in fact call for the same 85 psi as does mine, is it that you have decided on 125 over the recommended 85 in as to compensate for the lesser density of Helium than the 85 lb/in2 instructed with the use of air? Or was there another reason that I am overlooking? (eg Limitation of available regulator at the time etc.?) This question has been eating at me for a while now and I'd be highly appreciative of an answer or any info a'toll on the topic. Thanks a million in advance to anyone willing to shed some light on this subject for me... Side note, my Shoebox Compressor manual states that more than 100 psi in will or might (one of those) cause serious damage to the compressor. It would seem that a measure of psi would be the same regardless of the gas but I can imagine there being differences when it comes to compressing said variety of gasses due to vastly differing properties among them.

ShoeBox = 85-100 psi.... I have a Freedom 8, which uses 100-125 psi.... I run it at 125 on air, haven't used Helium yet.... have a regulator on the way ATM....
In practical terms, no difference between 125 psi of air or Helium.... some difference in how many CF of the gas will end up in a given tank at 4500 psi.... but pressure is pressure....
