Lightweight, accurate, fixed barreled .177 springer

Hi All,
Recently I became aware of the Gamo Accu. It seems it fit's some of the criteria I've been looking for in a .177 springer.
I really wanted an HW 57 to be the gun but every one I have read about has accuracy issues. I guess they are due to the sliding loading gate?
I read that the Accu may be a clone of the BSA Silverstar? I'd love to have a version that has the HW 57 level of fit and finish versus the Accu's lack of finishing.
Are there similar light weight models? Also I'd prefer the rifle in the 12 fpe range. I wouldn't mind detuning but if I can find a model already at 12 fpe that would be great.
Thank you all in advance for your help!

Taso: I've had mine in .22 since mid-Summer. After finding it's favorite pellets are 14.66 gr H&N FTTs, I enjoyed out of the box accuracy. Although not very heavy,it still has a solid feel to it. It's very easy to cock,so you can shoot it all day...nice shot cycle, too.I'd buy mine again without hesitation.
I just now checked, and Pyramyd still offers it at $199.00...and it ships with an AO scope. A duplex reticle, but still,it's an AO. But you probably already know all that by now. good luck Bryan

Bryan,
Thank you. Sportsman's Guide has the .177 on clearance for $138. That's the cheapest I've found today but I don't know if they charge shipping etc.
I also saw Rick Eutsler's review and his velocities were kinda low where I'd like them.
Can anyone with the .177 version comment on velocities? Is the rotating breach an issue? It didn't seem like it in Rick's review.

Sounds like you found a good deal. I would not worry much about velocity, though. I learned long ago that for my purposes, only accuracy counts. I don't care two hoots for higher velocity, nor do I pine for a "flatter trajectory" as long as my pellets are on target each time that I do my part. When one considers what the British have been doing with sub 12 lb guns for generations,I am content.
Just my opinion....cheers, Bryan

Bryan,
I agree 100% I just know the trend is for velocity monsters that twang. That's why I was worried it was setup shooting too hot.
I think 12 fpe is perfect for my needs and hopefully a calm "thunk" of a shooter.

I have the Gamo CFX with the same rotary breach, and I love it. I load mine with a pellet pen these days, but bare fingers was ok too. Lots of times the pellet pops out of the pen and right into the barrel, but if not, as long it ends up pointed the right way I only need push it flush with the top of the end of my fingernail. As for detune, mine broke a spring and actually shot at decent target velocities by the time the ends had coiled into each other enough to shorten the spring so much there was absolutely no pre-load, i.e. the spring was actually loose!

I have the JM 3605 spring in my Accu .177 that puts out 13.5 FPE and under an inch accurate out to 50 yards with sniper mediums and H&N FTT pellets. The target shown was 10 shots @ 25 yards with 8.64g FTT's.
