I like using old scopes on old airguns. I have several. Been keeping an eye out for one of those old Mossbergs. They fetch a good price on ebay if they are in any kind of condition. I have mostly old Weavers, much easier to find. That scope would look great on an old Crosman or Benjamin. Keep us posted...!
Here are my two latest assemblages. A Crosman 114 with the aforementioned J.C. Higgins scope. The scope closely resembles a Weaver B4 but has a slightly wider eyepiece and a gold anodized turret housing. I am not certain of the origin of the scope on the Benjamin 312. Doesn't quite look like a Weaver. It's marked "Revelation", which is an old Western Auto brand. I paid five dollars for each of these scopes at gun shows. They both work very well.An interesting aside: The Sheridan intermount fits perfectly between the breech and rear sight on the Benjamin 312. I have a hunch this is not a coincidence.
