Here is a link to a post from a gentleman that knows all about tuning GAMOs. I would listen to anything he has to say.

James Maccari of airrifleheadquarters.com sells custom springs and piston seals which are of higher quality then stock. The Gamo Hornet will except the NEW! Euro Trantula spring or the E3650 Ultra spring. Both are drop in springs and I personally use the Trantula spring in tunes for my own Gamo's and customer tunes. I would replace the piston seal as well since the action is opened up for repair and the Tesla seal will work fine but Maccari also carries the kit to tune them which includes tow piston seals. Ed

Yep, just leave it alone... Make you compressor long enough for the whole gun.... just strap it down to it can't "lever" on you.

Hey Ed,
Have you put a Tarantula in an Accu? I bought one a few months ago and the spring was slightly too large to fit in the piston.

That's interesting since the ACCU is a modern version of the CFX from my understanding and used a trantula spring in my CFX with no problems. The ID of the piston thickness of the wall may be the problem but have used both springs mentioned above with no problems. Ed

Another spring that can be used in the Gamo's for what is called a soft tune is the Merlin XL-CUSTOM spring. It's a square wire and slightly lower power but still plenty for solid fps. I've used them in the Winchester springers and one of my B26's carries one. Be sure to check the spring guide when installing universal springs on stock guides they may fit snug but remember in the compressed position the spring expands. Ed

Thanks, Ed. I'm getting around 13.5-14 fpe with the stock spring and 14.3 gr -14.66 gr pellets but would like a bit more.
