Added Another To The Collection (FWB300S) (W/PICS)

Here it is!

I went and picked it up yesterday evening. Looks new, only a few marks on the stock where it looks like it was bumped around from moving it to sell. No standard wear marks from handling like shiny spots on the stock or faded blueing on the cocking handle.... stuff like that. Just a few specks of surface rust but I had to really look hard for it.

We shot it when I went to look at it and the three of us had a good time trying it out. Got it home and set it on the bench and shot some JSB 7.33 at 15 yards into the trap. One hole groups, not a ragged hole, just a hole!

This morning I took it out to get these pictures to share with you all and I ran 10 shots over the chrony to get a baseline.

10 shots with JSB 7.33 gr pellets...

I'll leave this one alone. No need to fix it if it ain't broke. ha ha!

I've had one 11+ years and love it.  No maintenance needed yet and one hole groups at 50' are the norm.  As you say ONE HOLE not a Ragged One!!! 

Just for fun, try lighting a match with it - you can do it!!!

I set up to try some groups at 47 yards.  First this scope is maxed at 7X power and there isn't enough elevation to bring the POI to the crosshairs so I had to figure out where to hold over to get it to hit the target stickers.  I had to aim at the top of the steel for elevation and just center the FAT part of the reticle between the edges of the target for windage. 

I shot this 5 shots each from the right to the left <<<<<<

I was soooo excited on that third from left hand target when the first 3 pellets hit the same spot, then I ruined the last two!  ha ha ha! 
The target stickers are 1" for size reference.

This rifle has a story that the owner DID just what you say, he lit a match with it, and not just one.  I hope to be able to do this myself and I want the people that sold it to me (personal friends) to come over and do the same with it.  Now that would be cool!

The scope is a Beeman Blue Ribbon 2-7x32 model 66R made in Japan.  Don't hold me to it, because I don't know much about these scopes, but, I think that they were made by Hakko?  It's different.  Only has 28 clicks for elevation and windage.  14 up, 14 down, 14 left, 14 right.  It might be a 10 meter shooting scope or something???   I need to look this up myself.

You got a real nice gem there Brett. They are such sweet shooters for sure. I have 4 FWB 300s with three being the same as yours that are Match L with one in walnut as well. The other one is a junior that I use to shoot FT with at times. It has the Maccari single spring in it and shoot 8.4s at 650 fps for right at 8 FPE. It is deadly on tree rats out to 45 yards and will drop a FT at 55 yards quite easily if the wind cooperates.

They are indeed addicting for precise target work and you should have no trouble lighting a match or doing some insect pesting with it for fun. You may want to put a different scope on it so you have more elevation adjustment to be able to reach out and touch them critters and insects.

Thanks Tom!  I guess it's a good thing that I didn't pick up that 95 after all.  I got the text that this gun was available the next day!  I didn't plan on buying this but I couldn't let the opportunity go either.

I was made aware of this rifle by the family of the owner over two years ago and I wasn't aware of what it was exactly.  I only knew that it was a nice airgun as described by the family.  Anyway, they contacted me to see if I would be interested in it and I said yes!  So, now I have a new distraction...  I mean air rifle!  ha ha ha
