i got a crosman and after market bolt and what controls the "flapping" around is the rubber O ring if you have any others try switching it out with another.

Do you mean you feel air coming out from the bolt when pumping, or when firing?

I don't know anything about the ebay kit. 

I had Airgunsmith tune my 1322 carbine.  It already had an 18" barrel, long steel breech, extended probe bolt, and they did a complete rebuild and tune and added their really nice brass flat top piston and valve combo, machined exhaust port, chambered and polished the barrel, 

My gun gets 600fps with 15 pumps and 14.3 gr. pellets and is probably the most accurate gun I own.  So like others said, getting to 600 fps in .22 cal will take some doing, but it is possible. 

I finally hit 604 fps with my 1322. 18g baracudas for 14 fpe!  Every mod I have was pretty much all from ebay.  A lot from alchemy airwerks , and other random vendors.  Most things I bought were great, and some stuff was just meh.  I have a couple boxes of spare parts and I keep a project gun that I constantly trying new things and different configurations. Gets addicting and sometimes frustrating lol.  Ebay is usually my go-to for parts and over the course of a year, theres always new stuff popping up.
Just keep at it and you'll build your dream gun.

I've thought of drilling a hole through and through the handle and using a "sex bolt" AKA barrel nut.

When you shoot if you put your hand over the bolt air comes out there just wondering if that's normal or if I should get a new bolt oring

Good one! I cannot agree more, I have hit my crony a few times and that would have been the end of several phones.

Hi Smokehogan I was wondering how many pumps it takes you to hit 600fps with that alchemy RP valve and no replacement piston. I'm trying to hit 600fps with a 1377 and trying to decide if I should get the alchemy RP valve and leave the piston stock, or go with the full alchemy flat top valve and piston combo for extra $. Thanks!

It takes me 20 pumps to hit 630 fps with 16 gr H&N hornets. I also have a tiny leak somehwere and can hear air hissing when pumping.  Mine is also a 1322 though.  I've had that RP valve from alchemy and its cool but the volume is really increased with that valve if thats what you want.  I occasionally hunt with my 1322 so I wanted less pumps to reach high fps.  I've now switched to a FTP setup from a different vendor (forget who) and that's what I've stuck with. Stock valve just Flat top. You can definitely hit 600 fps with that RP valve but itll be more pumps.  If I remember correctly I was getting close to 30 pumps with that valve! My bigget changing factor was barrel length I would say.

A steel breech is a MUST.

What benefit does the steel breech bring, besides allowing you to mount a scope or red dot?

PINNING the valve should be done!
One extra under the breach is good enough
But two on the sides is enough for me
An extra heavy hammer spring is required
Flat top or you will have a hard time getting there.

I built a BackPacker back in late 2014 with a pump cup and minor mods.
It got 595 FPS on 10 pumps with 14.3 CPHPs.
Sounds high for the mods so I decided to resurrect the gun.

I made a new, hopefully improved cup piston and valve and added a 20" barrel to a BackPacker tube.
Has a shorty LH steel breech, extended probe and .160" delrin TP.
Put the gun together today and I'll run it over the chrony in the next few days when it warms up some.
Here's a picture of the gun. Pretty basic but it's just a test gun.

Pinning the valve is basically adding a valve retention screw, the 13XX guns have one already with the front grip screw as well as the indent/punch area behind the valve in the tube, but on high power builds it's best to add another screw to keep the valve from moving backward in the tube. The most common place is to do this on the top of the tube opposite the front grip frame screw so it's under the barrel and out of the way.

I always took "pinning" the valve to mean inserting a pin or nail into the poppet extending into the inlet hole in the valve's nose to reduce dead space when pumping.

That's another form, but 99% of the time it is referred as a valve attachment method... goes with the PCP conversions on 22XX pistols and modification of Discovery rifles and so forth, if you look into pinning of those valves it is adding retaining screws.

Right, you "pin" a pumper valve to reduce dead space when pumping to improve the efficiency of each pump you put in.

With Crosman pumpers, it was always recommended to "stuff" the piston (stiffen/reinforce the piston usually with sections of finish nails), "shim the cup" (reduce dead space between pump cup and valve nose), and "pin the valve" (reduce dead space in the valve inlet).

I've never converted a CO2 or multi pump to run at higher pressures than they were designed but I hear that in those cases you want to reinforce the valve retention screws for safety.

Here's a picture of the gun. Pretty basic but it's just a test gun.

Ran this gun over the chrony and the numbers were almost exactly as they were originally.
Was able to get a full dump with 15 pumps with the stock hammer spring.

With 14.3 CPHPs
05 pumps= 440 FPS  06.15 FPE
07 pumps= 515 FPS  08.42 FPE
10 pumps= 594 FPS  11.20 FPE
12 pumps= 624 FPS  12.36 FPE
15 pumps= 667 FPS  14.12 FPE

There's still more power left on the table.
I used the stock hammer spring and a 70 duro valve seal.

It'll get a heavier hammer spring and 90 duro valve seal.
I'll pin the check valve to eliminate the dead air space there.
Should bump this gun north of 600 FPS with 10 pumps.

Took the gun apart and performed the above mods.
Used a 2100 hammer spring.
Should get to test it tomorrow.
