I'd personally rather spend the money on a gun instead, the dive shop is just too handy and inexpensive for the time being.  When the hydro dates run out on my tanks in Dec 2019 is when I'll be looking into a compressor and no telling what's going to be available by then.

So, does anyone have a list of parts needed and a simple how-to on getting these things set up and running?  If I understand correctly, at a minimum, we will need oil, a bucket and some sort of separator.  Any recommendations on oil or the separator?  I'm assuming any bucket will work for the cooling water...

You know, living on the Gulf Coast, you'd think there would be an abundance of inexpensive, convenient dive shops near by.  But, the closest one is 10 miles away, at the foot of a busy bridge, on the opposite side of the road and they want $10 to fill my 90ci tank!  I only get 7 Mrod fills from that tank, so in 20 tank fills I've paid for the compressor!

I love my local dive shop... but they are 45 minutes away. Tolerable, but I have a hankering for more power and only having a 3K scuba for a source is a limiting factor for me. Honestly, this and better glass are my only 2 wants right now.... next will be a .25 cal something or another... LOL

What's crazy is the guy that owns the dive shop said that when he fills a guppy tank or another tank that small he feels guilty charging $3  on them.  Airsoft guns are really popular in this area and he's the closest here in town and luckily for me he's right on my side of town only a 10 minute drive for me.   I pay $5 for the 88cf. 

There are a lot of things to consider about the people owning the dive shops and Terry the owner where I go really lucked out when he got his compressor from a local fire department at a cost that's 1/10th the cost of a new one.

Thanks Wayne.  I guess I need to visit a couple fire stations and see if they can fill it for me.  I just feel guilty bothering those guys for something like this!  I feel $3 - $5 a fill for this size tank would be fair.  $10 is a bit steep!

My dive shop was an 80 mile round trip and Mr. George was a great guy to talk with. He is 88 years old and was still diving and teaching classes. He will be closing up shop this month. I would call him and he would make an appointment for me to come at my convenience and we would chat for a couple hours each visit. His experiences were story book material. His shop was virtually packed with artifacts he had found throughout his diving life and he knew each one like it was yesterday. The $5 fills, $12 vis insp. and $24 hydro insp. were not even close to payment for the time I enjoyed spending there. I will sorely miss Mr. George. But, the thing is... the independence of being in control of your air supply is priceless. When I was installing the TSS and MDS in my SynRod I had to be mindful of how much air was left in my tank. Matter of fact.. I didn't have enough to completely fine tune it and I'm not physically able to hand pump to 3k with a torn rotator cuff and wouldn't want to if I was.

Oh I hear ya Bill, the only time I use a hand pump now is out in the field and that's not that often.  The first time I go out there with my Dominator I'll bring along my pump though

If you scroll through the feedback there are four positive feedbacks in a row on the compressor. If you click on "view item" there is a banner that reads to the effect of "sale ended due to broken or lost item" on all 4 of them. What the heck does that mean?

It just means more red flags and weirdness Bill. Lol. I've scrutinized every possible angle on this and I think it was Packard that pointed out they have at least one sale on another item that listed as free shipping and then hit up the buyer for shipping after the sale.

I think if there is a $)((# in the punch bowl, that will be it. Last I checked I think there was 29 sold on this listing. That is an incredible amount of sales to take on if it's a scam. I won't be leaving neutral feedback if he hits me up for shipping costs also. Lol. I don't think I'm the only one either.

Not sure about the "lost or broken " reason for the seller to end the listing. I agree it is getting fishier by the day.

Yeah, I really don't mean to keep running this in and out but, they have a lot of stuff in their store and they seem to be selling with good results. You would also think that Ebay would have acted by now if there were flies in the ointment. I've had the dam thing in my cart 4 times and something just won't let my finger push the button. I know I have backup through PayPal and Ebay but I also know I have a pretty low threshold of tolerance. I don't want to be labeled as an internet terrorist n junk. You never know where those J. Edgar Hoover wannabes are lurking.

well , it seems like they try that " free shipping" thing pretty often.. someone in the feedback mentioned being asked for additional funds.BUT

THIE FEEDBACK LOOKS LEGIT.. THEY HAVE DELIVERED COMPRESSORS.. the previous sales say 309.00 shipped. interesting
