Thanks OTC.  Good advice.   My thinking was better to run the compressor on 220 supplied by the transformer than 110 since the Chinese seemed to design it around 220-they did not even have any 110 models available when I ordered so the 220 was the choice.  One nice thing about the Tuxing version is the water pump is powered from the unit itself and not from a separate outlet plug so it may be a little simpler to connect for power (no separate outlet needed).  The transformer was a not inconsequential additional cost but hopefully will be worth it in the long run and it would have other possible uses if needed (still totaled roughly what an Altaros would have cost).  Mine is chugging along happily with this setup.  Good luck to all using these-hopefully they will last a long time.  Thanks for all the useful information from posters on this site.

120vac kills more people in this country than all other voltages combined, why because people think what you wrote here 'oh it is only 120 volts'  The minimum voltage to deliver a lethal shock is 30 volts.

People I will say this again if you do not know what you are doing call an electrician, it is worth the extra $50.00....

well , its actually the AMPERAGE that kills you if we are getting technical.. Or overall wattage.. My fly swatter is rated at 2600 volts, It barely kills a bee because the amperage is about .0005 ma .. Ive seen guys build electric scooters on the other hand and think nothing of connecting 48v 40ah batteries to the controller unit.

If we want to really get down to the nitty gritty of what it takes to electrocute you it is in fact the amperage that is the most important value. In my specialized electronics class back when I was coming up as a auto/diesel mechanic the instructor made a comment about a former student that ignored his statement that it is possible for you to be electrocuted by a flashlight battery if you bypassed the skin as our insulator like the covering on any wires.

He stated if you take a Metal thumb tacks and puncture the skin of your fingers so its in contact with your bodies fluids ( the body is 80% water ) then touch the terminals of the battery there is enough voltage and amperage stored in the battery to electrocute a person. Of course he stated very greatly to not try this but take his word for it since one of his students did not believe him and tried it and is no longer with us due to him being electrocuted.

The new Hybrid cars ( Nissan Leaf as an example ) are now an even greater risk for technicians since they have banks of batteries that are wired in series with a rated voltage of 480 volts with the capability of discharging in excess of 3000 amps at one time. The techs that are certified to work on the leaf go to several weeks of schooling and the dealer is supplied with a dedicated tool set that has every tool required to work on the car with insulation covering the entire tool except the very tip of the tools that actually contact the part. There is also a rope partition placed entirely around the car with the car being parked on a rubber mat that is four feet larger than the cars footprint in all directions. There is another tech that is standing by as a safety measure at all times the car is being worked on because with the 480 volt/3000 amps capability you don't get a second chance to make a mistake. You would be toast in a few milliseconds.

You are correct about the amperage being the killer.  There's just a great deal more exposure to the public in general to 110v in the US and once you open up your panel there's plenty of amperage there to light you up.  Most folks in most situations dealing with 220v or 480v systems on a regular basis are professionals and hopefully more cognizant of the dangers and have better safety protocols. Thus, it is plausible that there are many more 110v fatalities in the US.

Still waiting for my compressor to arrive here and the days are getting closer to the July 6th deadline for it to arrive. I have messaged them twice with no responses so not sure if they can read English and reply in English or are just ignoring me. Since I have had no response from them if it is not a compressor when whatever it is arrives it just tilts the table in my favor for filing a dispute with eBay.

I learned many years ago that the squeaky wheel gets the grease so I can squeak right up the chain of command at eBay if necessary to have it resolved in my favor. Mind you its not the outcome or way I prefer to handle it but if I cannot get them to respond to my inquiries then they leave me no other choice. Plus the fact that they are a brand new seller with only 4 sales does not go in their favor either so as the saying goes " time will tell "

Its been so long since I filed a dispute that I am not sure of the time frame but I would think that the window does not start until I receive the item or the estimated delivery date has expired. I can assure you I will not be waiting even 30 days after the 6th of July and if it has not arrived by the 6th the dispute will be opened that day.

It was ordered and paid for on the 11th of may so the 6th will be inside the 60 days but just to be sure I am going to call tomorrow to find out the details in where I stand with a dispute. I will update after the call.

This weekend I gave the compressor a good workout in setting up two PP700 MKII's. The compressor ran flawlessly and the only problem was keeping it cool as it was 90 deg F outside and I had to use freezer packs in the water tank to keeping the head temperature below 60 deg C.(140 deg F). Originally I was filling a 90 cu in tank and than topping off the pistols but I found it easier to fill the pistols direct as it took less than a minute to fill them from 1500 to 3000 PSI. I probably have a total run time of about 3 hours on the compressor and the oil still looks clean. Bob

Well still waiting on the cheap eBay compressor that I bought back on the 11th of May. I have messaged the seller three times with no response and now today on eBay it shows the seller is no longer a member of eBay. I tried to open a dispute but it has me sending another message to the seller. I guess it has to be after the estimated delivery end date of July 6th before they will open a case on it.

The eBay page I went to says I have 30 days after the end delivery date to open a case on the item. So if nothing shows up by the 6th of July I will be opening a case and requesting my money back. Or if a hand pump shows up it will be the same scenario since the item will not be as described also.

I was so hoping it was not a fluke but it is looking less and less promising every day that goes by. If I get the 69 bucks back it will be ok but was really wanting the compressor. Just have to cough up the cash for one at the regular price.

Ordered one of the Yong Heng's off ebay. It's in LA so it should be delivered here in Vegas by the end of next week.

Also ordered DeWalt D55001 oil for it. I'll get the first fill and maybe 2 changes out of the quart. assuming the compressor outlasts the oil I'll buy more...

Still need to order the HP filter from Aliexpress. Speaking of, has anyone found Yong Heng rebuild kits and burst disc's on Aliexpress?

I've bought rebuilds for the tuxing. I presume they are the same but you would have to double check against yours. Personally, knowing what I know now, if yours works as it should out of the box, chuck it up to PFM and don't mess with it. I've caused myself a lot of headaches opening it up to see how it works.

I found parts for the tuxing on aliexpress, found a few yong heng parts but not rebuild kits. not sure what crosses over between the two as the heads look completely different...

Still trying to figure out the best way to search on aliexpress...I get more hits for what I'm NOT looking for...

For the burst discs, anyone make their own? Hopefully, I don't blow any, still I'd like to get or make a bag full just in case.
