Budget (under $60 ) air guns are yours accurate ??

As the title says
how accurate are your under $60 budget rifles
As much as we would all like to have that awesome high dollar (enter air arms Air Force day state here )
Can we still get descent accuracy and loads of plinking fun from a low dollar rig such as my entry in the low dollar catagory
This is actually my sons rifle but I shoot it because it's a great garage target plinking rifle on the cheap
($59)
Rifle is a gamo recon whisper youth gun in .177 it's bone stock just went thru the normal new rifle prep
And sighted in scope no trigger mods or tuning of any kind
Pellets are Winchester round nose from tractor supply
Here's the rifle and 10 yd target I shot in my garage tonight and so far this gun has proven to shoot pretty well we have had a ton of fun on the cheap
What is everyone's low dollar rig and how's it shoot ??

crosman m4-177 actually has a lot of barrel stabilization for a 60 dollar gun , and fairly good groups for 12 yrds.the p17 is by far the most accurate gun in the price range, if in a vice or the hands of a top match shooter it will stack rds at 10yrds.

No, and I hate to burst your bubble, but that's not very good accuracy. It's fair, if you were shooting standing offhand. Trust me, your standards will go up soon. ;-)

I have two Chinese B3s. One is detuned to 520fps and is mouse fart quiet, one is power tuned to 690fps and is loud as heck. Both will do 1/2" at 20 meters. The guns generally need a fair bit of tuning to shoot that well. Flying dragon has the updated B3-2 for sale for $55 shipped.

I bought a used Daisy 901 for $40 and it turned out you be a tack driver with RWS Supper domes. I think I have had that gun now 10 years and it is one that I will keep around.

Same opinion on Crosman 2100. I'm an average to poor shooter and I group decently with it.
The white circle is half an inch, the red one 1- 1/2. Any decent shooter could get a "ragged hole" IMO.

I was going to say a Crosman 1377... But then you went a through int the word "rifle".
Plus they seldom stay under $60 for long with all their modding potential
I bought the Grand Daughter a used Gamo Recon for cheap ($30) that does pretty good out to 20yds, some days the little stinker can out plink me and hit pop cans I miss.
I have since bought here a New Crosman Raven for just north of your price at $66. Got it here on
AMAZON
It is similar in size but weighs a lot more, and harder to cock. Got it towards the end of the season so she hasn't spent much time with it yet.

I think the accuracy of the cheap guns would be surprisingly good, especially in the hands of the decent shooter. It's the build quality that keeps me away. The all plastic bodies, poorly made parts with sloppy tolerances, and not durable seals. If I'm going to buy something, I would as soon spend my dollars on something worth keeping.

The following purchases all shoot better than I can do, and includes a couple pistols, though my 1377 was set up with a carbine stock from the millisecond I got I got it.
2 B-3 underlevers
1377
P-17
760 Pumpmaster with a rifled barrel for $9 more (total of $29)
Now arguably, I have several other guns that were "under $60" by account I got them using Amazon gift cards, but that's cheating.
Both my B-3s were bone-stock. The first one had the dovetails milled off-center on the receiver but DANG IT after about a tin of pellets it started making one ragged hole at 20 yards more often than it didn't. The second B-3 I only had a few weeks before it went on permanent loan to a friend. for managing the squirrels on his property. It doesn't shoot as good, but still doing dime sized groups at 15 to 20 yards (he's a better shot than I am).
My 1377 was by far my most accurate airgun until I bought a PCP pistol. And even off-hand, my brother-in-law has killed a lot of sparrows with it using everything from Daisy wadcutters to CPL box pellets. It was the first anything I ever shot one-hole groups with at any distance, and set a standard that I strive for with everything else.
The P-17 is known for having a great trigger, and in capable hands, will shoot very tight groups. I do not have capable hands, but can shoot silver-dollar sized groups free-hand at 10 yards. And sometimes better.
MY 760 Pumpmaster was a $20 airgun. It was so horribly inaccurate I made a thread about it. Then I ordered a barrel for the M-4 .177 for it... $9. And now it is shooting several pellets very well (JSB Exact Heavies, H&N Sniper Magnums) and I'll be testing more today.
So yes, cheap airguns can be very accurate, not just "for the money spent" but just in general.
EDIT: Mark (MobileMail) has a good point about very cheap airguns. You can either spend a lot of money geting upset with cheap purchases or do the wise thing, save up, and buy a lights-out shooter.
I ended up buying a lot of my stuff using Amazon credit and gift cards, including all the guns you see above (except the 760's replacement barrel). The Chinese underlevers were a complete surprise, though. Use will smooth them out somewhat, and with tuning can really wake up the performance. They were both very solidly made with just about no plastic anywhere, and despite heavy triggers both shoot well. I look it at things from the "is it worth the money I spent?" perspective, and all the airguns I listed were to me. In fact, my 760 is my favorite airgun at this moment, despite having a 392, a QB-79 with a repeater breech, and a PP700 pistol that is just boring-accurate with a variety of pellets.

My great niece wanted to learn to shoot and after a long talk with her parents and their ok, bought her a Ruger Explorer youth rifle for her 9th birthday (which has since been painted blue at her request) to teach her. I think I paid all of $49.99 on Amazon. It's actually a pretty accurate rifle out to 15 or so yards with RWS Hobby pellets and she rarely misses the bullseye or anything else we set out to plink with.
I also have a Stoeger X3 bought from another member for $40 delivered I originally got to give her when she turned 10 and ended up keeping after refinishing the stock and swapping out the stock spring for a cut down B3 spring (cut 4 coils off, it's a perfect fit and ups the power to about 530 fps) so I'd have a comparable plinker when we shoot.
We have a riot shooting targets, army men, soda cans and whatever else we can come up with and that's what it's all about isn't it?? A lot of fun for not a lot of money and lots of good times had out picking off that invading force of little green army men or those feral soda cans that sneak in the yard.

I have a pair of the crossman 1322 pistols in the carbine stocks. Mine has a Red Dot type sight, my wifes has a laser.
Both will do one ragged hole at the range I shoot them at in my basement. 20 feet.
I have a target on my wall downstairs with 10 pellets in one large ragged hole that could be covered with a dime with 4 cents change.
That is not bad IMO.
I also have a B3 40$ and it has good days and bad ones.
Generally speaking 1/2 inch groups at 20 feet but every now and then it can do half that.
Not sure I have found the right pellet for that yet. Or it wants different pellets on different days.

I was thinking exactly as Scott said... my 1377 only cost me $30.... but that was a CL deal and doesn't count the plethora of mods I've done...
I would say that my best buy has been our Daisy 880, great gun for under 60 bucks. I can usually shoot 1" groups at 25yrds with it using ironsights.

Ditto on the daisy 880. Still have the metal receiver one when I was a kid (still a kid by heart😊) and bought a newer plastic one. Believe it or not the newer one with rifled barrel scoped bench rested 10 pumps will shoot little army men @ 30 yards my outdoor backstop 😎

This is a shot group from my 117cal B-3 Under Lever taken last Oct 19. The center ring diameter, on the 2in Birchwood Casey stick-on target, measures 1in. In the 2nd picture of this shot group, I was able to cover it with a dime. The range on this shot group was 30yds. The distance was measured and marked with a 100Ft tape. The pellets that I was using were Crosman 7.4gr Premier Pointed.
As far as I know
, the internal parts to this gun are the same ones that were installed at the factory and this gun has never been modified in any way. I installed the Center Point 4X scope. I am the third owner of this gun. A good of friend mine, got the gun from a neighbor who used to shoot gophers with it using the barrel mounted, factory open sights. He gave me this gun many years ago, during a move that I was helping him with. My friend was moving into an apartment down in MPLS and needed to reduce his possessions. He knew that I shot air rifles and decided to give this gun to me, as he would not be able to use it where he was moving to, in the city. I was given both this air rifle and his old 1968 Gilson 10hp snow blower. Both work just fine. I have seen these B-3 rifles for sale on line for less than $60. Mine does not have a lot of power but is fairly accurate and a joy to shoot. One must be very careful loading it and either mechanically block the action or hold on to the cocking handle in such a way, as the action is prevented from closing on your fingers. People have lost finger tips with this type of gun. My Very Best Regards to All. - Tom

The 1377 is the only one that I've seriously sat down and shot hundreds of shot at a tiny dot on paper from 10 yards with.
I'll say it'll put 10 in a half inch from 10 yards with me using a knee for a rest.
But often it is less than a half inch outside to outside ragged hole.
Most of the time I like shooting steel cans and stuff, and always aim for a spot that doesn't already have a hole in it. So if I can fill a glade can full of about 20 holes without hitting the same hole twice then I had a pretty nice group there.
I generally don't find shooting short distances all that difficult or challenging, and my accuracy with airguns can really take a dive once the targets get beyond range where they are shooting flat. For some guns the practical accuracy falls off at 25 or 30 yards, and for others it's 40 or 45 yards. With the 1377 it's probably best inside 20 yards.
At this time, none of my airguns are expensive.
The Blue Streak likely has the most value. And it is probably the one that is most difficult for me to shoot accurately. Even though it has a pretty good trigger, it's "ghost ring" peep sight is far less precise than my scoped rifles or even the home modded sights on the 1377.
Some day I'll probably buy a more powerful, more expensive air rifle for the long range accuracy that I desire.
But all of the cheap ones will do their job within their power range.

Not going by personal experience on this one, but there is a currenet thread going on comparing accuracy of the Daisy 901 to a Benji 397.
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=94797.0;topicseen
If the 901 is as good as the Daisy guys report, I'd say it belongs here. Because a 397 can be DARN accurate.
And it makes the price cut-off at Amazon. $59 shipped with a Prime account.

Your post does not say if regular price or close out price. I bought several Remington Express from Midway when they put them on sale for $55. One needed a tune to perform well and the other 2 were good as delivered. That's not to say they could not be improved with a tune, but they did shoot well 'out of the box'.
