A friend of mine bought an FX steamline a few weeks back. After abought 50 rounds he pulled the trigger and nothing. The trigger went back all the way and it wouldn't fire. He sent it back and he got a refund. Now he just got in a new FX royal 500. He got two mags through it, then filled it with air, loaded another mag, pulled the trigger and nothing. Same thing, Its cocked, the trigger goes all the way back when pulled, and nothing. Two different guns in a row same problem is pretty strange. I'm going to look at it in the morning. Anyone have any thoughts on what could be the problem? He really doesn't want to send another gun back. Thanks.

When I looked at the parts diagram for the Streamline, some of the trigger components looked very tiny/fragile. When you get the 500 opened up, I'd be interested if you post some pictures of the sears/components. I wish you lots of luck on figuring out the problem.

Take the action out of the stock.
You will see three set screws near the trigger. One forward the trigger,,,,,,,,One rear of the trigger and one just forward the trigger.
I call the one right near and in front of the trigger, the screwed screw, because that is what you will be if you do not know it's there. The manual that came with the gun doesn't mention "the screwed screw." Its out of adjustment.
If it's not that one, it's probably the very rear set screw. Im sure the set screws are the problem.

Be very careful when doing this because there are pins that hold the grouping together and in. They can slide out......never to be seen again. You will see them on either side the breech block. While you have the action out of the stock, put some scotch tape over them or something to keep from losing them. Or,,,,,,,
The gun will be down until you order a new pin and/or pins.

Thanks Leonard! I wish you still had the Streamline to take a pic of that trigger assembly. Maybe the two are the same???

The FX royale and the FX Boss use the same breech block, same trigger grouping.
I do not know about the streamline as I haven't worked on one of those but I would assume that they are very close.

The problem with the OP's FX Royale is the trigger is not adjusted properly. Or it has come out of adjustment.
FX does not use loctite, or anything to keep the set screws in place. Nor do they secure the pins that hold the trigger grouping in.

Problem solved! I started with the adjustments and that got me nowhere. I put everything back where I found it. I degassed the gun in hopes, still nothing. I didn't really think that would do anything. I didn't want to mess with much because of the warranty. My friend came to get his rifle so he could send it back. He had talked with AGD about the FX streamline he sent back with the same problem. Turns out they had sanded a bit off the sear and the problem is fixed. He said scr$% the warranty and lets fix this thing. We sanded and polished the sear where it grabs the hammer and now it shoots great. Sorry Zack, We got so carried away we forgot to take pics. Thanks everyone for the help.

No worries on the pics. This is just one more report to add to what I have read about the FX trigger units. As nice as the Streamline looks, I'm going to stay away from FX guns.

Are you sure? They are very accurate. I'm serious. I can prove it.
This minor trigger adjustment , which is what it was, cannot possibly detract from its performance.
But hey!!! Buy what you like.

Hey Zack, Don't let something like this keep you from buying an FX. It was a very simple fix, and a great trigger might be a little better now. I found the FX trigger to be one of the more simple triggers to work on. and adjust. I have shot a many FX guns and I love them. I'm still going to buy a Streamlike or Wildcat after I recover from buying my AA s510 Ultimate Sporter.

The fx trigger parts are tiny, I don't know if it's the big depression and shortage of materials but seriously.

That's the same as the Royal 500 I worked on. The part that latches on to the hammer was pretty rough. It didn't take much to smooth it up. Thanks for the pic.

I had run across this same problem on a D34. It was a bit more work to take a T06 trigger apart.
The FX trigger was easy when compared.

That part seems pretty wimpy for a sear. With the metal being so thin, I would think premature wear would be an issue??? However, if it's a hardened part, with very little pressure on it (possible given that it's a PCP and not a spring gun), it could certainly last a long time. But the fact that these parts may need to be touched up, leads me to believe that it's not a quality hardened part.

I have the FX Streamline in .25 and find it to be a wonder. Trigger is very nice and it's super accurate. The guys at the field call it cheating it's so accurate.

Thanks for the info in this thread. My brother wanted a Streamline, but hesitated because he heard "it had problems".

For instance, Streamlines are so "bad" according to Blackpool Airguns, that they stopped selling them.

I just fixed my third FX sear problem. This time I cocked it and the bolt would not go forward or all the way back. the mag with a pellet was stuck in it. When I took the trigger out, I could see the sear was caught on the side of the housing. I took the sear out and it was even rougher than the last rifle I worked on. I sanded the whole sear and put it back in. Now the trigger is even smoother. Everything is working fine for now.

Makes one wonder why FX is shipping the Streamline with what sounds like crude parts. The rifle does not look cheap, but maybe cost cutting was taken a little too far...
