Keep in mind Conelty, the size of these scopes. Any of the leapers that are high magnification tend to be very long and have a narrow field of view. They are aggravating scopes when compared to Hawkes or other higher quality scopes. The hawk is the perfect scope to me, it's not to big and is fairly light for it's magnification power. Very well built and best of all to me, a VERY bright and wide field of view. Hawke makes a fine scope. The thing you might want to consider on the vector optics is the size of it. While it's said to be a very durable scope, it's a larger 30mm tube and because of this and other possible factors it weighs 21+ oz. Thats not a big scope for target shooting but if your gonna haul it around in the woods, it might be worth considering a lighter scope. Just a thought. J
I've been searching for awhile myself for a light weight, medium length scope. The specs I wanted were....* Magnum spring rated. * 4-16x40/44* Mil dot reticle. * Side focus (minimum of 10 yards)* Maximum length of 13" to 14".* Maximum weight of 20 oz.
