Hey Marty, Just in case you don't have it, here is a link to a free .PDF download of Sheridan's service manual covering all the models.http://ujays.net/repair-manual-v4.3.pdf
Model designation for a Silver streak Factory gun fitted with a Williams 5DSH peep is a CW. The CW and CBW(blue with 5DSH)hand gaurds are slightly longer so to mask the set points of the factory open sight on models made before the Rear Sight on wedges versions. You could buy a CBW or CW straight from Sheridan and you would never have any issues with solder joint separation of barrel & Tube. The factory rear sight fitted to wedges is the culprit. Anyone with a sight on wedges should knock it off, stretch it out and fit it with much less stress to the solder joint. If there has already been a separation I glue the rear sight in place rather than fit it to the wedges and give the solder joint the chance to fail again.Factory weaknesses besides the solder joint would be the Front Die Cast Plug that cannot avoid eroding each time a pin is driven. Upgrading the plug to the Mac1 Steel front plug gives it a pin hole that cannot be eroded regardless of the number of front end services.Picture shows a steel front plug and the Round Vise that holds the tube when pins are driven.TimmyMac1
