air guns in nicaragua question

I just got back from a trip to an island off the coast of Nicaragua and befriended a young lad that is into spear fishing and slingshots.  We got to talking about air rifles and his eyes lit up...thrilled about the idea of getting one and his parents are on board.  I would like to either buy one for him or give him one of mine.  My question is this...does anyone know the laws about bringing an air rifle into Nicaragua???  All the searching I have done has resulted in fire arms laws etc. but nothing about air rifles.
