I'll be chopping 4 more inches off one barrel to make it a micro-rifle... think of a 1377 with better ergonomics and a (albeit flimsy) dovetail. For the money, I'm happy.

For the money, I'm happy. Those low cost long one piece scope risers can help with the flimsy dovetail situation. I use them on my "clambshell" guns. There shouldn't be any loading issues if you use the pellet clip. It helps the scope clear the rear sight, depending on scope position. They come in offset versions too.
I'm considering a tear-down for a flat-top piston, but a part of me wants to start searching for a metal-receiver 760 and add wood furniture. That replacement barrel is accurate enough to hold sub-inch accuracy at 15 yards with gusting winds ranging from 10 to 20 knots- I was astounded I was even grouping as I could feel the wind buffet me as I tried holding a steady aim. I definitely need to add some weight as this thing is just too light.
MK177-010 is the number for a rifled barrel from Crosman! I just got one to redo a 760C. It's a drop in. 16.75 inches long $9 and change.
LOL.... Betty Lou and I were walking thru Walmart one day and I spotted a whole pallet of them in the feature aisle. I can't remember ( there is a post here somewhere ) I think I paid like $24? each for them? Anyhow, Brought them home and opened the boxes. Scoped em up, if that's what you call that thing that came with them. I think we shot 1 clip each? Boxed them up and they went back where they came from. Come on Crosman... please stop screwing up all my childhood memories. Just bring one back with the qualities of yesterday. Ya'll messed up Sheridan, then ya wacked Benjamin and now your killing your own stuff. Not everyone wants a CCS or a Disco. Some of us want a quality wood and metal pumper... don't you dare suggest the new 397/392. I mean... you did come close.... until you got to the trigger. And to beat all, you took a Chinese knock off of a Daisy Red Ryder and called it a Sheridan. Ok, I'm done.
I then filed the knurled section on the barrel's back end so it slid in easier, then pulled the barrel back out, added a drop of gasket compound around the end, and slid it back in. For less than $46 I have a little pumper that takes 5 shots clips and is accurate for what it is.
