Wilson & Kevin, I wish I could've had those when I was a kid! I loved watching the old B&W westerns during family time. I still so cherish those memories. But, I have them now! Cool stuff!

I always wanted to shoot a daisy 1894 as a kid, does that count?

My friend had one from his grandparents that we used as a regular toy gun when we were in 3rd grade or so, by 4th or 5th grade when his parents considered him old enough for a BB gun it no longer worked and they threw it away in favor of a new 880 from Walmart.

I recently got a deal on one I was happy with off Ebay, but it's been " in transit " from the local distribution center 45 minutes away since Friday having been scheduled to arrive on Saturday

It'll arrive eventually, but I'm tellin' ya they're lying and it hasn't left the local warehouse yet.

I hate that. I call'em up and build a fire under the manager/post master. Or the seller uses economy no rush shipping and it goes in and out of the state 6 times before arriving finally.

I got the slip in my PO box yesterday ( no package pickup on Saturday) and will have the gun tomorrow.
I can't wait to see how it shoots, if it does in fact operate as the seller stated.

Had an old barrel break springer that was purchased in the mid 1960's from Western Auto. Was the most powerful air gun (amongst the peers BB guns) in the neighborhood. I still don't remember what brand it was and may have been an old German springer. I do remember it would diesel like crazy when I cleaned it..

Back in the mid '50s dad bought a Benjamin 312. That is what he taught me to shoot. He worked in big tire recapping building where pigeons were a real big problem. The plant manager hired me on to remove the pigeons in the plant. I was paid daily the sum 5 cents for every pigeon. I would work on Saturdays during the school year but during school vacations and summers it was nearly everyday. I really didn't take home much money because I put most of it back into pop and candy machines in the break room. After 10 years of doing that I could really shoot that ol' Bengy.

My best friend owns a Daisy 1894. It is his only airgun. He has had it since he was 12. I asked him recently if he still had it and he just smiled and said "I ain't ever gonna part with it."

I only had one airgun when I was growing up and had it from 1958 (my grandfather found it in a garbage can) until 2005 when it finally succumbed to the millions of pumps..
A Plymouth Model 25.
We all had them except for the kid whose family owned the funeral Parlor-he had a Sheridan.

Possibly the most entertaining thread EVER on this forum, LOL...

I mentioned the Crosman M1 earlier, I do remember it shot plenty hard for a BB gun, especially if you juiced it with enough of mom's sewing machine oil. I offed quite a few sparrows with it, and I remember the thing would shoot all the way through both sides of those old small thick glass Coke bottles.

At one point my brother had one of the Marksman "45" look-alike pistols. I gotta say the popularity of those for so many years is a bit of a mystery to me, it was pretty much worthless. Even as kids we figgered we could throw a BB harder and more accurately than that thing would shoot one.

My brother and I always considered my Benjamin 347 to be more accurate than his Sheridan. Only as adults did we learn how to ADJUST THE SIGHT on the latter, LOL, and figger out it shoots just fine! Both those rifles are still alive and well too.

Perhaps the gun that had the biggest influence on me was a BSF S20 pistol that a friend had. First quality European springer I ever saw, it was gorgeous and shot really hard - for many years it had the reputation of being the hottest air handgun out there. Not knowing one airgun from another I ended up with a Slavia ZVP, bought with lawn-mowing money from the Herter's catalog. Nice pistol in its own right, but disappointingly not in the same league as the BSF for either looks or performance.

One of the great mysteries of my life is how I did NOT know about Air Rifle Headquarters. I was a teenager in theIr heyday of the late 60's/early 70's, but had no idea. Says something about how differently info traveled to small-town East Tennessee in those days I guess! Man, I would have been in total heaven then with something like a Diana 27, HW 50, Webley Premier or the BSF pistol. Which has been my excuse to spend the last 35 years enjoying my second childhood, scarfing up springers of similar quality and vintage, LOL.

It was about as powerful as a Crosman 1322 and was advertised as a 10m target rifle, as I recall.

I have a repeater that looks like that one. Has a tube on top to hold the pellets. Have to use flat pointed pellets to allow them to feed. Holds 25 (?) pellets. Fun and fast shooting.

Like most of us, I had a Red Ryder from Santa when I was ten and saved up my allowance to buy a Crosman 1377 with shoulder stock when I was 12.

Like many boys, I was a pyromaniac, and played around cutting open shotgun shells to see what was inside. I had the brilliant idea that I could use the primer of an empty shell as a tiny but very rewarding bullseye target. I'd set it up far away and it might take all afternoon to hit my mark, but You sure knew when you made that perfect shot.

I seriously needed more adult supervision, but it was the 80's and I lived in a cowboy town.......
