Things that make me smile

latley my wife of 25 years has been getting into shooting with me, I got her a rifle and shes a pretty darn good shot, we are both getting older and most all my rifles have pretty good size scopes on them mostly 40 and 50mm, hers has a 40mm, anyway I wanted to do some sound tests out in the garage today (was related to another post on this site) and ask the wife to help out and shoot a couple of my rifles while I listened to see how loud they where...first gun up was my old Crosman 2100 that still has the old 3/4 inch tube tasco 3x7 15mm scope on it...well first shot missed my 2' x2' trap and went right through the garage door!  lucky it missed my pickup that was sitting outside....when I asked her what happen she said my rear sight didn't have a notch in it and she just lined it up the best she could with the front sight....hummm.....took me a minute but finally relized she had thought the elevation knob on top of the scope was a sight, very wislely I kept my composure and explined that the dinky round thing was a scope..she says "no way" I could'nt help but laugh.
My wife is very sweet and I love her so..and I can't help but think the hole in the garage door was my fault, I usally go over all the aspects of a particular gun before having her shoot it.
It does make me smile now when I see the hole in the door.....thought I would share, I see things on this site almost everyday that make me smile...

Actually Don "your" story made me smile. Got to love them don't ya,cool you keep your composure or you could of lost a good shooting partner(an maybe even sleep in the dog house for awhile).

A hole in a garage door ain,t to bad. One time my dad was going to take some cans back. Loaded up the truck of car with cans an backed thur the garge door. It,s was fiberglass door smashed it pretty good. His wife loved telling that story.

I have been married 37 years and my wife just started shooting airguns with me last year.  A red dot sure made life easier.

Don, congratulations on a couple of things.
First, for holding your temper and realizing a garage door is just a garage door.  So many times we men would have gone off the deep end and said things that would have been worse than a hole in the garage door.
Second, congratulations for cultivating such a close relationship with your wife that she wants to spend time doing the things YOU like!  That's probably a result from not losing it over little things like holes in garage doors!!  I think we all strive to have such a relationship with our wife just like yours.

Usally I don't get mad about stuff like that, what I worry about is a more common problem of mine and thats saying something stupid without thinkin and end up hurtin her feelings..most the time I don't mean anything by it.  It's cool she wants to shoot with me and I don't want to ruin that in anyway, shape or form...besides I think she's really enjoying it and it's been a fun time for both of us
