No disrespect intended here. If you really are taking 10 minutes to hand pump your pcp you must have a faulty pump. I use a Benji pump to achieve same fill in about 3 minutes and I am twice your age and weight 164#. I recommend you check your seals on that thing.

As for this rifle, only thing that keeps me from pre ordering is the listed weight. I just sold my Synthetic MRod because it felt too heavy to me relative to my Benjamin Maximus and my Hammerli 850. I already miss the repeater on the MRod, so this gun is squarely in my sights, pun intended.

Just curious are talking about pumping your benji from 1000PSI -2000PSI (because that takes 5 minutes) or from a lower PSI (when i got it it was empty and it took me 10 minutes to fill it up). I have noticed that if I let it sit for more than 3 weeks without shooting it it loses around 50 PSI but I have never let it sit more than that I always assumed that it was just air cooling. Don't think anything is wrong with the pump as it works just fine with my hatsan AT44. (some effort but i can get it from 1500 PSI back to full in three 5 minute sessions) sorry for the late reply other things going on.

They must at least have a prototype in .25.  I just watched the 2nd video on the Umarex site again and he states that they are bumping the velocity up in the .25 to stay in the same velocity range as the .22 and they get about 35 shots per fill on the .25.

Really want to see some real world reviews on this before I get one. Be nice if it's a decent buy that way I can have a knock around gun. Be kinda of nice actually not having to worrie about it because most are in the thousands $$ with these qualities

I hope the Gauntlet is a decent pick up and shoot rifle. Would be a wonderful starter PCP rifle, plinker, and pest gun for a huge crowd (if) it is everything they say. My cynical self tells me that it's not all gravy, trigger feel/quality, barrel quality and such. I am sure the Germans do a decent job on fit and finish, but I do hope it's not a plastic fantastic gun with an awful untunable and/or worse, unchangeable trigger.

I'm confused!  If Umarex is a German outfit, why is everyone comparing it to a QB (Chinese)?  Will it be made in Germany or China?  Is it a QB barrel or a Umarex?

apples and oranges.  The makers of the Gauntlet and QB are direct competitors.  In this thread, QB owners are commenting on the "very close resemblance" of the G to the QB, and how the G seems like a heavily modded QB.

Until we do have a production version in "real" people's hands, all we are doing it playing "what-if".

Not that "what-if" isn't a fun game, but it isn't exactly a helpful game.

"What-if" at least helps to pass the time untill "we" can get our hands on them.  Playing "what-if" also let's manufacturers know what we would have interest in purchasing.

Not that it's not interesting, but am going to pass...at least for a year.  If it works out, not dropped and still in production in 2018, will probably get  one (hopefully debugged by then).

Yes, I have HPA's QB's, so know what they can do both in power and shot count...if they get it close enough, will buy one.

Regarding the whole Umarex-Germany versus QB/China things... Nobody yet knows where parts are sourced from.  If it has a high-end German barrel, I'm sure Umarex would claim that outright.  And then there's the whole licensing thing- Umarex may just be licensing the design.  They certainly do a lot of licensing with other products in their various products (take a look at their airsoft offerings).

I have the QB repeater breech on my QB-79 and it uses Marauder magazines just like this Gauntlet.  When doing side by side comparison (a picture of the Gauntlet to the real deal in my hand) they functionally look the same excepting the shrouded barrel and the stock.  Otherwise, the dual slot cock-on-open dovetailed repeater breech with trigger-guard flip-lever safety that uses the same magazine screams "Same country of origin or Licensed Design".  Since we know they are both bottle-fed off the protoypical 13CC regulated bottle, that means the only place they are different is, well, the stock and the shroud.

Gauntlet is a copy of a Texas tuners idea from 2007-8, so it should have an LW barrel....lol.

That would be nice, since you can pick up a spare ninja tank on Amazon for about $60!  The only question would be the output pressure, seems most ninja tanks are pre-regulated to 800-850 psi, not 1100 psi.

Since the hold up on the release of the Gauntlet has been blamed on the tank manufacturer, I wonder if it is Zija or another manufacturer?

An early picture showed a Ninja SHP regulator bonnet peering out from through the opening in the stock, thus the assumption it uses an 1100psi setpoint.  However the Hardair article shows something different.  Maybe it was to help meet the price point, maybe it was due to supply chain issues, maybe both, maybe neither.  http://hardairmagazine.com/news/detailed-look-umarex-gauntlet-pcp-air-rifle/

I just read the Hard Air Magazine Sneak Peek at the .25 cal Gauntlet.  They are claiming 20+ consistent shots at 900+ fps.  They claim this is achieve due to the regulator being set at 1900 psi, compared to the 1100 psi regulated pressure for the .177/.22 Gauntlet.

I had e-mailed Umarex and asked about spare air tanks and was told they would be available around the same time the Gauntlet is released.  It will be interesting to see if the 1900 psi tank will fit and work with the .177/.22 Gauntlet?  That would make for a pretty hot regulated .177/.22 PCP, and also give you a choice of velocity since they say the tanks are not adjustable.  I guess only time will tell.  They claim the .25 should be released later this year, which probably equates more to mid-2018, given the timeline of the .177/.22 Gauntlets!
