I have a Benjamin .177 cal. with no serial number nor model number. Can anyone give me an idea when it might of been manufactured?

Left Side : "BENJAMIN FRANKLIN"
Right Side : COCK HAMMER TO RELEASE SAFETY
Rear End Cap : BENJAMIN AIR RIFLE CO. ST. LOUIS U.S.A. around outer edge. nothing in center of cap

Some other things that may help until you can post.
How far is the front sight from the end of the barrel?
What kind of rear sight does it have.
What is the safety lever like.
Is the bolt one piece.

Well, I'm gonna go ahead and answer Gary's questions while I am tryin to feger out postin photos.

How far is the front sight from the end of the barrel? - 15/16 in.

What kind of rear sight does it have? - Sorta looks like a semi buck horn attached with a dovetail joint. Can be adjusted for windage only. I'd say the front sight is 9/32 in. tall, above the barrel.

What is the safety lever like? - It is mounted to the right side, just in front of the bolt handle. Sort looks like a hatchet.

Is the bolt one piece? - Yes.

Scott, The bolt and safety looks like those in the picture. The end plug has no model number. Blank in the center.

I edited my post when I found a photo of the rear sight I think you mean...
I wonder if a Benjamin replacement rear cap back in the day would have been blank to be used on either a 310, a 312 or a 317???

Is the pump arm ribbed like a tootsie roll?

The rear sight does not look like the photo. The pump arm handle is ribbed like a tootsie roll.

What a BEAUTY!

Looks like a later model 317 to me since it is 177. Odd the rear cap doesn't say so.
No serial would mean pre '57 but the early ones (late 40's, early 50's) has a safety that looked like target rings and the bolt handle was straight.
That rear sight is adjustable for windage?

Here is a pic of mine that I think shows all I am saying.

It is a nice gun. I was just curious about the lack of numbers, as to age. In 2011 I sent the original gun to be repaired because it would not shoot and the barrel was loose. It had a serial number that dated it to 1962. This is what I logged about it: It needs a pump kit. The front sight is missing. The safety is missing. No bluing left, it's all brass color. Wood needs refinishing. I think the barrel is plugged, I can see no light through it. [had a pellet in it].
I asked the repairman to boost the original power when he repaired it.

What y'all see is what I got back. I refinished the wood. He sent a note saying that he took mine and one he had and made me one good one.

I don't know about pellet power nor speed, but, it sure does pump hard. All I can give it is 6 pumps and I've only done that once.

I am sure he saved me money cause the loose barrel did not have to be repaired and a front sight did not have to be installed and aligned.

I sent it to Precision Pellet. It cost me a total of $50.00 A very nice man to do business with.

While I have you Benjamin wiz guys here, I see something in his photos I need to ask.

On the photo of the rear cap.
I see a hole in the center, where the hammer spring would center.
And a small hole offset to the right.

In my 1953 Benjamin 252, I have the same arrangement.
But mine doesn't go all the way through.

What is that small hole for?
When I took mine apart, there was an extra spring in the gun.
I don't think it had ever been apart before.
I am familiar with the internals of airguns, the only place this spring could have gone was in that hole.

45Bravo, mine has no hole. The object in the center is a little nipple with a darker circle around it cause the nipple kept stuff from being able to touch right there to make it a lighter color. The dark spot to the right was a stuck on piece of something. I scraped it off with my thumb nail. Since I got the gun back from Precision Pellet I have not had a tool on it so I know nothin bout how it looks inside. I took 8 pictures of the end cap and none of them were clear enough to be able for eyes to focus on.
