I barely have my first airgun and am already lusting after the next.
I really like the 'look' and specs on the .25 FX Streamline Walnut.
Not too much info on the interwebs so I figured I'd start a thread.
....and go

The .25 caliber is LONG if you want to add a more effective mod to the end. Guy on the Yellow has a thread with pics of his. Look down the page a ways...
The AoA site says all 3 calibers are the same length, but the FX site says the .25 cal is longer, which was confirmed by the guys on the forum. AoA drops the ball again...imagine that.
Just something to consider.

Where are you getting these LDC at? Doesn't the streamline have one built in?

Monstermaxx,
I'm sure you've seen this write up from airgundepot. It's gives a fair amount of info on the streamline including length, weight, and also shows the ldc options. I'll add a link for others who may not have read it but are interested.

Yup, had seen that, still makes me drool a little. AGD is where I ordered it. There's a guy there named Greg who has spent a lot of time educating me. Nice guy, quite knowledgeable.
I can't believe I actually spent the money. I'z all a quiver waiting for the big brown truck.
Wifey better not find out. Luckily she doesn't really care about gunz so as long as there aren't actually two of them next to each other she probably won't notice.
When I get too fidgety, I just take the S510 out for some play. That's a sweet gun too, though I'm seeing the problems with being unregulated and a cheap scope.
Darned if I'm not almost out of pellets now. What am I going to do with myself until the brown truck arrives w/ a new gun and more pellets?

I think you'll be quite happy with it.
I own several FX guns and have not been disappointed by any of them.
In fact they have substantially exceeded my expectations.
I would have gotten the Laminate stock though. But that's just me.

I think I'll be happy too.
As to the LDC/Moderator, I can't imagine that 9-14% reduction in sound is worth it, but I'll evaluate when I receive it. Sent an email to Neil Clague about it, he says he hasn't seen one of these rifles yet so send some pics/drawing when I receive it.
Sadly I didn't get a ship notice yesterday so the big brown Santa probably won't get here until next week

If the factory shroud still leaves the report with a noticeable crack, that amount of sound reduction should be quite noticeable. On the other hand, if the factory setup is very effective, the extra moderator may well be a minimal help. My SWAG is if you use the highest power setting most of the time, the add-on moderator will be more useful than if you use the lowest setting.

Doesn't the 'crack' come from going in and out of being supersonic?

If you have an S510 Carbine now, it's probably doing 28-29fpe now, and is fairly loud for a shrouded rifle. Partly because the shroud is too small to be super effective, and partly because those guns waste so much air. I had one, and it was much quieter after installing a regulator and getting the hammer strike right to greatly reduce hammer bounce and wasted air.
As for the Streamline, it also has a smallish shroud. And it's also pushing more power. But, it will likely waste less air than the S510.
As for my guess, it will be about as loud as your S510 on High, or maybe a touch louder.
Just a guess, let me know how I did when you get it!
Looking forward to your review. Should be a nice gun.

I put a deposit down on a streamline in .25. But I have a few questions about the moderator/LDC. Is it just screwed on with UNF threads and not glued? So a hugget or any other moderator could be added at any time? Any owners care to comment on the sound levels?

yiikes, is fedex messed up over this half inch of snow we got. Now I have to drive over and pick it up. Which is ok.
Since it's my first 'new' gun, is there anything special I have to do to break it in? Or just fill it up and start shooting?

It's here. It's very nice. Not that long at all. Very light.
Medium rings and the scope won't work w/ a magazine. Puts the front mount nearly off the dovetail.
I LIKE it!
