Got My Christmas Present early

My wife gave me the Daystate Regal early because of three days of incoming rain. She wanted me to be able to shoot it when I received it. I mounted BKL rings and my Hawke Airmax 4-12X50 on it. I got my zero at 15 yards and set a target at 40 yards. I shot five 5 shots groups using JSB 15.9, that avg .259.  The next five 5 shot groups were with JSB 18.13 and they were a little bigger but I couldn't get a measure because the rain storms came faster than we thought and the target was blown away. This is an amazing accurate rifle and I couldn't be happier. The bolt is a little stiff but it got easier after thirty or fourty shots. I will figure out what to put on it to make it slide easier next week. When I saw that the FX  had come out with the Streamline after my wife bought the Regal I wondered if I would be disappointed. After seeing this beautiful rifle I knew I hadn't. I know side lever is the new norm for air rifles. Its easier to cock but I still like the looks of the bolt vs the lever. I am old and like the looks of bolt actions rifles. On my target. I would have ave in the tens except for one shot on two of my targets. one would have been .198 and the other .201. I will make my targets aiming  point smaller on the next set of targets I set up. I have noticed when I shoot targets that are smaller ,the better groups I shoot. I was just in a hurry and grabbed the first target I could find for the first test.

Delldog it hasn't been oiled. That's the way it looked out of the box.

That is a fantastic stock.  The best I have seen on a Regal, congratulations.

Precision Hunter thanks for comment. I have owned many rifles and pistols in my 67 years but this stock is the best looking by far. I have seen stocks like this  on custom rifles that sell for 4-5 thousand dollars but never on an air rifle. I will worry about dinging this stock every time I take it out to shoot. I have already had a dozen people wanting to buy it from me. Its probably a 1 in 10 thousand stock for Daystate Regal and I can't believe I was lucky enough to get it. I told my wife to put it up for auction on this web site when I kick the bucket.

Being a old stock builder, I have a true appreciation for beautiful wood.

That sir is a beauty!, the fact that it a shooter to boot !! Can' t imagine any other air rifle could ever be better.
heck id buy it just to look at it ...lol
