Condor .257 question

So I've started a build of a .257 Condor and my first chrono test show around 800 fps shooting a 72 gr slug.  I have not shot any groups yet, but was wondering what other .257 Condor shooters are seeing for velocity.  I have read about 1000 fps on many threads but wondering if I should just try to get the velocity up before shooting at the range or if this velocity may perform well.  Thanks in advance for any and all input.

With my 34" barrel and Doug Noble  Valve, I can shoot over 1100 fps easily......Best accuracy for me is around 1050 fps and I use 3100 psi to get that.....You aren't going to get much unless you have a better VALVE .  Short barrels will need lots of PSI and may not get fps?

Currently the stock valve is in it.

Doug Noble makes the best valve hands down.  I can get 950 fps no problem with a 91 grain slug.

I get around 320-330m/s on 98gr on my valve. On my af type gun.

Thank you, I did a search on his name here and found that was his username on this forum.  PM sent  Thank you for the reply.  I have a heavier spring and hammer already installed.  Is there anything else that I may need besides the valve to get velocity up to around 1000 fps?  I think the slugs are more stable around that velocity from what I have read anyway.  I have a 24" barrel installed as well in .257.

I took two coyotes last week at night with my thermal scope at 110 and 130 yards. When Doug, Cedric and i shoot together we put eggs out at 220 yards and soda cans at 400 to shoot the .257s. These guns have power and accuracy.

Here is a post that I listed earlier this month about the performance of my Condor with Doug's valve  and heavier hammer spring.  Note that my barrel is 26".   For a 34" barrel I think that you can add about 100 to 120 fps to the velocity which takes the 92 gr slugs well above 1000 fps.  Wishing you well on your build and Merry Christmas.  Ray

My condor .257, running Doug's valve, hammer and spring in a 61 Ci tank. Right now she loves the 80 gr Ranchdogs and shes pushing the 980 fps average over 5 shots. Groups at 100 yards.

So I'm guessing the limiting factor to my Condor is the valve and the 24" barrel.  Guess I have some buying to do.  I'll start with the valve once Doug has some again, then see if I need to go longer on the barrel.  Thanks all for the responses

Make sure you get his heavy hammer and spring too. Larger volume tank is a plus if you want to shoot 5 or more shoots per fill and get a decent bell curve.
