Been looking at at purchasing a nice .22 PCP , pretty much had my mind made up on a Daystate Regal...................But now I have been reading about the new FX Streamline and very impressed with spec's but no real world reviews yet. And for the same $$ the FX is a regulated gun even make me more curious.

Would love to here any reviews from someone who picked one up on preorder.

The Regal being a much refined Huntsman ... is IMO a more old school built like a tank user serviceable design that can take a beating. Having handled MANY FX guns, while there High Tech looking with lots of bling ... easy user serviceable and robust not in the same class as the Daystates.

JMO ... nuttin more.

PS. have owned 3 FX's .... HAD owned & no more.

Also open to other options ........ But prefer sporter stocks. Not a big fan of bullpups yet.

If I had to pick between the 2 I'd pick the Daystate also. Been wanting one for a good while but just not in the budget at the moment.

Daystate Regal .22 is hard to beat!!! Great gun 30fpe for 40 shots, SUPUERB accuracy, light and shoulders great!!! I don't know much about the FX guns, the FX line of guns are very well made. But, just my .02 worth is go with the Regal or Compatto.

Having an FX, I will put my .02 for the FX. The accuracy and shot count are outstanding. Very little spread until off the regulator. 1/2" at 50 yards without trying to hard. I've gotta assume the Streamline will carry on the same traditions of accuracy and build quality. Since both are so nice and high end, if you can find a way to shoulder and shoot both - this needs to be a personal decision, you know?

No way I will be able to shoulder either one. I'm go No to wait on some reviews on the streamline. I like the fact you can dial it back to 20fpe. Really wanting to see some shot strings and if it's true they are shipping at the moment .

I've seen everything on there so far...... but no Chrony testing. I don't thing the average customer has had one in their hands yet.

Tough decision but the easy answer is to buy both keep the one that you love and put the other in a shipping box to my address I am willing to pay the shipping since I need /want a premium PCPin .22 then I can sell off my RS II .22 In fact I'm quite sure you will hate the Daystate Huntsman since the walnut is way to traditional looking for a youngster to like.

I like the pretty wood too.... If you ever go to rimfire central just search my user name plinker4life and you will see some great stock's I have refinished.

If I did go with a bull pup it would have to be a cricket in wood.... I read all the rave over the mutant but the stock is horrible in my opinion.

All I have for a PCP at the moment is a AA S200 in .177 with some Rowan engineering goodies and a Storey LDC .shoots great....I love it. So not afraid of the Czech offerings.

Just took the Regal XL 22 to the range to see how it shoots at 50 and 100 yds.
Zeroed at 25 yds. in backyard.

2 groups at 50 yards 1 mil holdover.
1 group, 100 yards 5 mil holdover.

It's a REALLY nice gun and I'm going to order the .25

Brandon, you didn't mention what what your primary use was going to be with a new gun. Would you go with a synthetic on the FX and take it to the field a lot for instance? The reason I ask is that as beatififul as the stocks are on the Regal it's a shame to put a ding in one. But then again we buy them to use, not abuse. I've had my Regal for about 4 years with 1000's of pellets through it. Here's my pros and cons on my Regal and the two FX's I own (Royale 400 and 500). Though not a direct comparison to the Streamline I think there are some similarities. I think you'd be happy with either, good luck on your decision.

Light and easy to carry and shoulder
Very accurate within its sweet spot on the curve
Magazine workshop well
Very serviceable as Scott mentioned
Trigger is awesome out of the box, never edjusted mine (8oz)

Cons
Not regulated
The barrel band allows for a rattle between it and the should if bumped
Cocking takes a little extra effort but can be smoothed up a little, bearable and you'll get used to it.
Factory LDC could be quieter

FX pros as related to my 400 and 500
Regulated
Super accurate
Smooth and easy side lever cocking
Solidly built, no rattles
400 ish very, very quite

FX cons as related to my 400 and 500
Cheesy magazine loading process
No single shot tray included
Trigger not as crisp as the Regal

Pretty much backyard warrior for targets,squirrel. "quiet is on top of the list" but will more than likely use a custom LDC on whichever I choose.

When I go hunting I carry powder burners as I have several custom rimfire's.

Whatever I go with will be wood stock. I know how to refinish and repair wood so not a big deal. To me a wood stock with some imperfections gives character and tells a story. I have some nice wood stocked family firearms that were handed down and would never refinish them unless they were completely trashed. The scratches and pressure marks let you know the gun is well enjoyed.
