Check the breach bolt first, make sure it's tight. Then check all of the mounting fasteners. One in the rear of the trigger guard and the two foregrip mounting screws. Check for barrel play after lockup. And make sure your scope is locked in place with locktite and not moving on you.
Let us know if any of these help.
Happy Shooting!!!!

Hey Guys,Thanks for the reply's.Sorry I'm just getting back to you but I had to go out last evening for awhile.Well she's got probably 400 or so thru her and all the screws are tight, scope, and the pivot points snug as a bug.I can't see any problem with the breech seal and she's popping CPHP's at 888.2 so I'll have to do a bit more investigating. I'm waiting for my mounts and I'm gonna try my New RWS 4-12 X 50mm scope to see if the crappy centerpoints causing the problem and I'll get back to you as soon as they arrive,(Probably today). Thanks For now and Happy Shooting,
NS
P/S: Thanks Guys I found the problem. The scope that came with this rifle is Junk.My mounts will be here tomorrow so I'll take this 4X32 off and mount the New 4-12 X50mm as this things driving nails now with this 4X32 so it was the scope! Thanks for the reply's,but my oversight as I didn't think a New scope,(Even a Centerpoint)could be Bad that quick but she's working Great now and Thanks Again,
NS

If your numbers are consistant (they seem high enough) then you probably don't need to re-seal it. Sounds like you checked all the usual suspects, so I would say keep shooting it and try to find the hold that works best. My Trail XL is particular to how its held, and it took me a couple weeks to figure it out. It likes a light "artillery" hold. It won't hurt to check the scope out since you have an extra one.

As Nathan said, it may be you haven't found the best hold for THAT gun.
Unlike some, my XL1100 prefers a firm hold, pulled back into my shoulder like a high powered rifle, with a good cheek weld on the cheek pad that brings my face up to the right height for the scope. My front hand gripping the foregrip checkering.
If I remember correctly, Jeff's (LongIslandHunter) XL1100 likes the same firm hold, but with the forehand out on the front end of the stock.
From results others have posted, the Trails, especially the XL's seem to do best with a differant hold unique to that gun.
Plus, you may not yet have found the pellet(s) it prefers. Mine acts like it has a changing POI with some pellets, one of which is the CPHP I picked up a couple of weeks ago. But, then it puts Predators into a ragged hole at 30 yards, if I concentrate on the hold it likes. If I'm off slightly on the hold ... it's a guessing game where even the Preds are going !!!!
Mine was still leaving smoke in the barrel at 500 pellets, and pellet speeds were wide spread, so I opened it up, cleaned it out, de-burred, replaced the chewed up factory seal, and properly re-lubed it. But, as Nathan said, if your gun's pellet speeds are close, I wouldn't open it up just yet. Try testing differant holds and then differant pellets, as the gun continues to break in.
Paul.

Well you can tell this post is from a new guy to the Air Gun world. Can anyone tell me if the "Cabela's Outfitter Series Deluxe Thumbhole Air Rifle" is essentially the same as the Trail NP XL1100 or if not, who manufactures that for Cabela's?
Thanks,
Dan

Welcome Dan,
It's deffinately not a Benji Trail - NP, or NPXL. They all have a full length shrouded barrel, not just a muzzel break.
The Cabela Outfitter looks like a Benji Super Streak - the .177 cal verson with the nickle finish. The Trail XL is a gas ram verson of the spring-powered Super Streak, with some added goodies.
You can find pictures of both here;

Thanks Paul,
I bought the Cabela Outfitter (.22) on a recommendation from a friend and a large dose of impulse. Just wish I had slowed down a bit and found this forum first. Now I guess I will live with it, learn how to shoot it and go on to the next one after I learn the game a bit.
I have about 250 shots through it, it is (i am) settling down some and the groups are improving. So based on what I read here, I will run another couple thousand shots through her before I do much more. I have ordered the GRT III trigger, so that may help some.
If you or anyone has any other basic suggestions I am open to all.
Thanks again,
Dan
