Twins: but NOT Identical

While one is basically a stockish Prod, the other is 177 cal, using a 1720T barrel, machined down bolt, and modified Mrod mag.  Barrel work by David Furr, aka Rocker1.   I really liked the wrap around hand guard so had to have one in 177.   




FWIW: The 1720T LW barrel is slightly different then Prod.  The distance from transfer port to breech end is slightly shorter.  So to machine in the o-ring groove, you need to cut the end off and redo.  So it is 11" vs stock of 12".   A more cost effective solution would be going to a 177 mrod barrel and cutting it down.

For about 40-50$ you could try a 1:15 twist Daisy 953 barrel,  the 853 L.W.  barrel was about 80$ when I checked a couple years ago...

Yea, sorry about the pic.  For some reason my hosting homestead account does not like photos from my iphone.  If you use their rotation features, the pics don't rotate, just get out of aspect ratio.  I have also tried rotating before hosting, and still an issue.  There is something in the metadata causing the problem, and haven't spent the time to figure it out.

The 1720 breech is too wide and has angled ends, which are good for fingers, but not mags. The barrel does not extend into breech for mag use, either.   I used prod breech.  That means you also have to turn down the Prod bolt to 177 dimensions.

To use a Mrod mag, you need to shim the back of the breech (0.035") and flat sand the bottom of the mag until it fits in the barrel slot.  You need to be careful, because it will be close to breaking thru.   You can also flat sand the left side if you want that to be flush with breech.   Alternately, if you have the equipment, you can slot the breech deeper.

I can make 30 cal Prod out of the 25 cal mini-rod I got from you Travis
It would only get maybe 2 1/2 shots with the 65cc tube, if I have the Lloyd's Prod double tube kit installed I would increase the shot count..
