Lenny, you have a declining string which means you need to back off on the hammer energy/dwell time. A lighter hammer around 55 grams would help to lower ES. Stroke should be kept at full length for easiest cocking, but can be turn in a bit to lower hammer energy. I would increase main spring gap instead or back off on inner spring. Valve metering screw at 4.5 CCW isn't doing much and I would keep it at 5.5 CCW with a TSS. Make sure there is a gap between main spring and hammer. Also, the inner spring is not reintroducing hammer bounce for the best shot count.

Ok, I think I know what the problem is.
My primary is flush and I don't have any gap with the valve pin.
Looks like I will have to back it out it bit.
only just realized there is another TSS thread with tuning info and someone there had to back theirs out past flush a few threads.

So which is easier to work with the ssg or tss? Also can the war ssg be converted?
Just curious, haven't even fully setup the war ssg yet to know if I like it or not.

Hey Lenny.
I'll link to my thread on my .22 with the TSS. I know yours is .177 but it's relative. Looks like you can slow it down and get quite a few more shots. Looks a bit hot. Anyhow, here's where I started. Scroll on thru and see where we went. I still need fine tuning but you'll get the idea.
Good Luck

thanks, I figured out my prob, the main adjuster was too close so no hammer gap, moved it back and all is well
getting about 60-70 good shots
I also put in some nylon buttons on my hammer, made cocking much easier
easy to do with a tungsten dremel bit

I only put two nylon buttons on the rear bottom of my hammer,
Used a razor blade and electrical tape to cut the buttons just above surface of hammer.
I might put two more on top front but use instamorph heat moldable nylon plastic
